Yeah that was definitely the worst of the fill... Not super fun, that one

This was it! Thanks - makes much more sense now. Thanks!

[–] coys25 1 points 1 year ago

That would be wild.

Cryptic Instagram post... New kit? Merch? Big news? Some USOC thing?

Rusnak out with an undisclosed illness; Morris is now a dad (congrats!!) and out for that reason.

And Ruidíaz was supposed to start but is apparently now in street clothes on the sideline. Maybe the hamstring? (Was apparently warming up initially but then pulled). Sounds like Heber up top.

Also love that they had players and families model the new gear: https://www.soundersfc.com/eternally-yours/retail-gallery.

It does make me wonder if they signed Paul Rothrock primarily to be a model 😂

[–] coys25 1 points 1 year ago

Totally agree. The crest is miles better - looks much more modern. I really like the way that they managed to refresh without losing continuity. The Carnation and Orca are also great - can see picking up Carnation gear for myself and Orca stuff for the kid. The refreshed typography and wavemark in the text also feels fresh but a good throwback. All in all, a win, IMO.

I was thinking the same thing re: King. Restricted free agency means that she could solicit offers from other teams, but Reign have the opportunity to match, right?

As someone who comes from the north and really values having a public transit accessible stadium in the actual city: please no.

If you want to build a stadium at longacres for Open Cups type matches, a la Starfire, and for other soccer events, sure. But otherwise...

Not sure if you're looking for Reign-centric stuff, but in addition to this and [email protected], you could also check out https://www.sounderatheart.com/ - they (Ride of the Valkyries) cover the Reign with great depth, and lots of other nwsl content is discussed on the site.

Would love to see many of these players back, but above all I hope that they can bring back Rose Lavelle. Just my absolute favorite women's soccer player to watch.

Yeah, but the end of that second half... woof. Still, will take the win at altitude on the road midweek.

This is the lineup for the #jordanisthetrue9 and #freeatencio crews, for sure. And Leyva's on the bench for Colorado, which I guess answers the question of whether or not loanees can play against their parent clubs...

Seems like a good guess?

The Sounders take on a Colorado team in the midst of chaos, on the field and off. Can the boys in green and blue (or red and yellow, which seem to be their primary uniforms these days) get the result that is there for the taking? Or will the season's trend continue - with the Sounders serving as a springboard for teams in free-fall to turn their seasons around? Tune in and find out, on tonight's episode of "which Sounders team will show up today?"

An Instagram post showed the image above tracing the Sounders branding through the decades. Thoughts / hopes / expectations for what comes next?

Somehow, your Seattle Sounders have struggled their way into second place in a Western Conference in chaos. Three points on the road (and, perhaps equally important, a good performance) would go a long way towards securing a playoff spot and building momentum for the stretch run.

Interesting roster move - Sounders and those who watch more Defiance than I do have been really bullish on his ceiling. Big vote of confidence for a 16 year old defender when we already have three quality CBs on the first team and others (eg Nouhou) who can do the job too, plus a backup (AB) with experience and a pretty good track record.

SaH coverage here: https://www.sounderatheart.com/2023/09/sounders-sign-17yo-centerback-to-homegrown-contract/

The show is inane, but the music slaps.

First of all, Carmen Carter absolutely kills the vocals on SuperKitties Theme and SuperKitty Call, both hard driving 70s-ish action theme vibes. Take the xylophone solos on SuperKitty Call and inject them into my veins. My Bath, My Bubbles and Me is a goddam bop. Always In My Heart is a tearjerker that would fit in just fine on your favorite boy band album. And even the rough ones (like Cheese) are only 60 seconds long, so they're over before they can get too annoying.

Am I right, or am I just going insane because this is LITERALLY THE ONLY MUSIC I'VE BEEN ALLOWED TO LISTEN TO FOR THE LAST MONTH?

Favorite autumn inks? (self.fountainpens)

As we round the corner into autumn in the northern hemisphere, the air is a little crisper, the days are shorter, and the leaves are changing... and looking for some new inks to try out. Do you have favorite inks for the season?

When you are already here you appear to be only a name that tells of you whether you are present or not

and for now it seems as though you are still summer still the high familiar endless summer yet with a glint of bronze in the chill mornings and the late yellow petals of the mullein fluttering on the stalks that lean over their broken shadows across the cracked ground

but they all know that you have come the seed heads of the sage the whispering birds with nowhere to hide you to keep you for later

you who fly with them

you who are neither before nor after you who arrive with blue plums that have fallen through the night

perfect in the dew
