You're not wrong, but a Republican party without the blind fanaticism of Trump's personality cult is significantly less scary. And, hopefully, less free to push whatever blatantly fascist policies they feel like with no electoral consequences.

It's actually infuriating that the angry and disingenuous victim complex from the right successfully made the press unwilling and unable to report on them honestly. The Republican party is objectively a dumpster fire, but the media is too feckless to tell anyone about it.
Not that the Wall Street Journal can pretend to be objective, though.

I'm annoyed a lot of the press is calling what he did "dancing" which makes it sound like he has more energy and vitality than what he was actually doing, just standing and swaying.
They just can't help themselves but to be overly generous to him.
I guess that's better than hiding that you don't own your games...
I think if finding someone who can fill Trump's shoes was easy they'd have done it for this election. DeSantis had a lot of the GOP establishment behind him and he fell embarrassingly flat. Maybe they'll find someone, but it's easier said than done.
