The protest brought me here but I'm staying because I like it more.
I'm on the verge of switching my gaming PC to Linux, the bloat of windows is becoming too much. I'm fairly PC literate but don't know anything about Linux or distros. It is intimidating to commit to a platform where I know so little. Does anyone have any tips regarding distros or learning the basics?
I can attest to this. I went to Voat briefly, shit was wild.
As a site it had merit but unfortunately it ended up scooping up a good number of the forced exiles from Reddit and not nearly as many normal users. Content had a big skew.

Things do break down sometimes but that does not make cheating excusable.
I respect your ex for telling them herself, that could not have been easy. Your children are old enough to understand what is happening and don't need protection. That honesty may allow for a future relationship if they can forgive her, which you say you are attempting to facilitate.
