I'm a little concerned that a full quarter of your participation here has been asking to mod a community.

Is this your only Lemmy account?

They don't cancel out because any gains are eaten by the top 0.1%.

Losses are social; gains are private. It's all about reverting labor practices towards 1890 until we get labor riots again. This time maybe they can murder union people and laborers with tech and robots, and don't need to be as scared of the masses as they used to be.

[email protected] isn't in great shape. I keep it updated with the important news, but Reddit just has a monopoly.

I was expecting it to look like a close race where Trump would cheat using the courts.

That didn't happen.

He told a good, plausible story. The count claims were the first thing I was going to verify, and Snopes pointed right to the actual source.

[–] Serinus 2 points 1 day ago

There was one who told a plausible story. Spoonamore? But as soon as you try to verify the number claim, it turns out to be bogus.

That one was the other way, Blackbeard threatening FlyingSquid. Blackbeard has never had the power to site ban, only community ban.

Hi, LW Community Team here.

We've made efforts to avoid the kind of supermods that existed on Reddit, and this is a great example. We've tried to have more mods with fewer communities each, and to limit the number of major communities under the same mods. This was a disagreement between two mods of major LW communities, FlyingSquid at worldnews and Blackbeard as a moderator of News and PoliticalDiscussion. Notably, this seems to be a disagreement from a couple months ago.

FlyingSquid moderates one major politically involved community (the other is closed). If Blackbeard wanted to ban him from News for report abuse, he certainly could have done that. Admins and the Community Team here try not to get overly involved in individual communities, and that wouldn't seem extremely out of line.

Blackbeard seems to have been concerned about getting side-wide banned by Flying. I've seen no evidence of anyone using the bot outside of extremely obvious scammers, trolls, and ban evasion. And I don't believe FlyingSquid would use that bot inappropriately. If that does become a problem, we'd absolutely take action. You always have the options to appeal directly to the admins (email in the LW sidebar). Currently, it's nice to have the extra help in keeping scams and spam off the site.

I do wish Blackbeard had talked to us about his concerns. He seemed to be pretty reasonable from my interactions with him. He'd be welcome back if we could get through this misunderstanding.

Mother killer laws.

I expect part of it is that enough Republican senators have gone home for the season.

She's not the best, but she's not the worst. Her biggest crime is what, using insider knowledge to trade stocks?

It's not like she gave a list of our spies to the Russians. Or likely sold classified documents. She didn't betray our allies. (Do I mean the Ukrainians, the Afghanis, or the Kurds?)

She was miles better than Manchin or McConnell. She wasn't our best, but she sure as hell wasn't a Republican. She got vilified primarily because she was a prominent Democrat for years. And it stuck because there was more than zero legitimacy.

They vilified her so much that some douchebag went after her and her husband with a hammer. There's a reason they didn't go after Manchin or Sinema or Menendez or McConnell or Gaetz.

There's literally communication in these comments that point to older communication on the same.

You're being combative about it.

Patch 14.22 Preview (lemmy.world)
submitted 3 weeks ago by Serinus to c/leagueoflegends

David Turley @RiotPhreak

Patch 14.22 full preview. This patch we hope to put the systems in place that will make mid assassins more functional and more balanceable going forward. We’re finishing our work on first-slot ADC items. The rest of this patch is small-scale balance aimed at solo queue outliers.

Shiv: A redesign to give ADCs less “random” chip damage while still being an early wave clear item. No more ARAM pentas.

Yun Tal: Scaling first-slot AD-Crit item. It’s meant to be weaker than Collector/ER on purchase but outscale them as auto-crit champs fit that power curve.

Smite: You can still smite “around” an epic to get it despite body-blocking. This tuning mitigates issues for players who smite the ground right after a Voidgrub dies, causing them to smite another one in the camp. Will now only happen if they’re packed close together.

Katarina: Lowering her need to wait for later levels in order to reach high mobility. Also this R CD should give her a lot more laning power.

Kayle: Bring up her late game carry potential, simple as that. She should be the best late game top carry on average.

Rumble: No pro on this patch means no more pro jail. He already deals more than enough damage in early lane, so we choose durability for the low-mobility melee champion.

Swain: Trying to mostly buff his base kit and provide both damage and durability since he should have both.

An Update on How We're Evolving League - Tryndamere @MarcMerrill Twitter

Hey all,

I want to share some important updates about @leagueoflegends PC. We’ve made changes to our teams and how we work to make sure we can keep improving the League experience now and for the long-term. But I want to be clear: we’re not slowing down work on the game you love. We’re investing heavily in solving today’s challenges faster while also building for the future.

As part of these changes, we’ve made the tough decision to eliminate some roles. This isn’t about reducing headcount to save money—it’s about making sure we have the right expertise so that League continues to be great for another 15 years and beyond. While team effectiveness is more important than team size, the League team will eventually be even larger than it is today as we develop the next phase of League. For Rioters who are laid off, we’re supporting them with a severance package that includes a minimum of six months' pay, annual bonus, job placement assistance, health coverage, and more.

We have full confidence in @RiotMeddler, @RiotPabro, and the League leadership team, who are leading the charge in this next phase of League’s journey, and we look forward to sharing more about our ambitious plans in the future.

Thank you all for playing and for being part of the League community.

Marc

He also added:

While we're on the subject of team size, I want to talk a little about both size and budget, and why they aren’t the right way to measure whether a team will be successful. We’ve definitely been memed in the past for talking about budgets, and rightly so. Success isn’t about throwing more people or money at a challenge. We’ve seen small teams at Riot (and elsewhere) build incredible things, while large teams (both at Riot and elsewhere) miss the mark.

While the League team will ultimately be larger after these changes, what matters more than size is having the right team, right priorities, and a sustainable approach to delivering what players need. If we’re solving the wrong problems, more resources won’t fix it. It’s about building smarter and healthier, not just bigger.
