ya as someone who smokes a lot of weed. its not addictive as in like, i get the shakes if i dont smoke but its def more than peanut butter cups

its def addicting, just not physically so. i feel real uncomfortable if my smoke habit gets disrupted.

oh i thought cuz you were mad about their unlimited breaks that was a factor for you

sounds like the amount of breaks for them dont matter then, its just that they're stinky. which is fair. but you can get the breaks just the same if you wanted. maybe getting out for some fresh air would be good for you

what did i miss?

take a break when the smokers do. just go outside. who says you dont smoke?

[–] RomeCallen 1 points 1 year ago (4 children)

go outside for a break then. who says youre not a smoker?

oh dang man, sorry to hear about that. you do all that on the pig? even if not, thats a lot of the country seen. pretty sweet. the salt flats are on the list for sure, that seems so cool

i was just talking to the wife last night about the east coast. and agreed for myself too. been out west a bit. grew up in the midwest and been all over that. but never really east coast. id love to check out arkansas and new york. even the city. hopefully someday

ya man i guess thats just the deal eh?

crazy to me, you dont see knock offs of the atlas. it seems like the best solution for a bike without cruise and theres like no competition or anything.

just a bummer those throttle locks are like 100+. before my next trip im gettin one tho

i have a lever on my throttle that wedges against the brake and works like cruise control. i would say, not the best

Ya, dueling banjos was the exact vibe man

Tied down?

and i think the next trip is exploring NM and maybe some of Mexico or West Coast/Canada. And my next one will def be a couple of weeks for sure at a minimum

ya kinda both. Ill never forget Medicine Bow WY man

pull up to this tiny, one stop sign town after riding dirt all morning and the first thing I'm greeted with is a big, all black water tower from like an old western movie, just looming. There was no body out doin anything either. dead quiet, no cars really or anything in town.

I pull up to a pretty run down gas station pretty much on reserve. as i pull up and shut down i can hear this real eerie siren coming from somewhere. you can hear it throughout the whole town, just this steady beeping whine. its about noon and there is a sign on the door that says the gas station is closed due to some sort of power outage, so now I don't know what to do.

As I am hanging out in the fairly brutal sun, waiting I guess, this ancient guy comes shuffling down the road carrying a real beat up plastic bag. I walk up to him thinking he's the guy who runs the gas station and as i get to him i notice he has 2 teeth and an eyepatch. it felt surreal that this is the first dude i meet here. i inquire about the station and he responds "nah I'm just here to check my numbers" and mentions the power has been back for hours at this point.

At this point i just wanna get out of the twilight zone I found myself in. he directs me to the next station which is like 30 miles in opposite direction I'm trying to go. just felt like i had stumbled onto a movie set or something

so I head that direction, a little worried i wouldn't make it. get to the next station and its like just someone's house with pumps at it. super weird.

and ya SD had some weird characters there too. this dude wanted to talk my ear off about the reason he got a Harley road king or whatever was so he could get his two chicks on the bike at the same time, as he was in a polyamorous relationship. and this was out of nowhere. just loading my bike up in a motel parking lot.

SD was also kinda sketch for riding. lotta backroads are filled with like pea gravel? i dunno what it is but its almost as hard as riding through sand and there is no tree cover. and it would come and go so all of a sudden your goin 60 and dive into this gravel, and now youre just pushing along, dying in 100 degree heat. if i would have went down there, i dunno man, id be in rough shape

but it was a life affirming trip for me, longest one to date and has me plannin the next

and jeez this turned into a wall of text but the vid is great. i felt the 'fuck you' in my soul haha. fkn the things we'll put ourselves through for "fun". and i really should get a folding saw LOL

LOL

i kno i kno, its blasphemy

but the tracks im riding in, it seemed more annoying than worth. i will be doin ammo can panniers soon so ill be a little closer to the sun

it was def an experience lol. i did it all solo too so some points in WY and SD were pretty sketch. def understand why people love sturgis now as the black hills are both amazing lookin and a great place to ride. tho i did a decent amount of slab thru SD tbh

im not much of a photographer, but i did take some pics. ill try and do some sort of post here with what i got. if you're a decently competent rider, it can get it done fairly quick too

and ya thats what really draws me to the vest. all the little bobs and ends you could throw on there. plus the easy access to the tank to fill

i hate wearing a backpack while i ride (too hot) and strapping one to the back rack for my daily ride is getting annoyin af. never thought about having block and tackle for when you get stuck, that seems real clever

compared to the mosko tank bag tho i was just looking at, its like 60$ less so i dunno if im getting anything really "cheap" these days
