My 17yo thought I was bullshitting him when we were talking about these jokes. He googled it and was speechless. I was kinda young when they were popular but remember vividly my uncle's telling them often.

To add to your comment, estate sales are a fantastic place to obtain all the items you just mentioned.

Setting them up is a part of my job, and the sale we just had Saturday had items relating to your post!

Basically could walk out with tons of new hobby materials for under $30. Probably under $20.

Oops wrong date! Meant 2053!

<After the war ended in 2053, humanity slowly began to rebuild civilization and the planet, eliminating sickness, hunger, poverty, and despair within two generations. Earth was mostly restored by the 22nd century as the United Earth Government formed, however there were still some lingering effects from the post atomic horror. Star Trek: Enterprise

This is where that paragraph came from (https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Earth) Cool place if you're into Star Trek

That's just it right there. I don't carry my birth certificate with me! We don't have "papers" so how's this going to work? Not to mention the huge swath this opened wide for an easy way to profile anyone, search the car, etc.

That would be nice, although remember what started it all in ~~2063~~ 2053 :/

It does pretty well with my messy scrawl on scrap paper 😁

I used to have so many jotted down on the backs of envelopes or whatever I could find, and then on my fridge with magnets. It was a mess.

Of course I had to make some edits or changes, but for the most part it was amazing.

These are the languages so far ( also says in settings that if you would like them to support additional languages to email support )

I haven't seen that one. I'll check it out!

I have used Recipe keeper for years myself.

The main features I like are the ways to import recipes (web, photos and text) I can take a picture of a handwritten recipe and it will magically recreate it. It also has an app for windows, so laptops/tablets and my android phone all sync up. You can make your own cookbooks too.

The world has lost /is losing a lot of food this past year alone. Saw an article that Georgia (US) lost 90% of it's peaches this season, folks/farms from the Midwest and Canada either couldn't plant at all due to lack of rain or what was planted has died already.

The dam that was blown up in Ukraine ruined a huge area of farming that has global significance as they exported a lot of grains and oil seeds.

Spain is facing over 60% crop failures and the third year without honey.

Cotton crops from Texas and Spain also at a huge loss.

I am sure there's more, this is just off the top of my head. It'll take a little bit for it all to show up, but we are definitely going to be feeling the effects of this by next year I'm sure.

I like and /or want to watch many of the shows already listed, so I want to add some not ITT

The Bridge (both versions) The Tunnel (uk/french remake of The Bridge)

Counterpart ~ what a great show and we'd had a season 2 if not for the pause because of Covid:/

Vera ~ my all time favorite of the mystery shows.

Strange New Worlds ~ feels like the star trek we grew up with!

Better off Ted ~ that show was ahead of it's time. Wish there were more than 2 seasons!!

Often passed over, yet exceptional imo, is Marco Polo on Netflix.

Shetland ~ Beautiful scenery along with great mysteries.

Will Trent ~ one of the few shows I watch as it came out and was really anticipating the next weeks episode. Most shows I just wait till they're all out. This one got me hooked right out the gate.

The Stranger ~ by Harlen Coben on Netflix.

Alaska Daily ~ cool setting and great topics

Quantum Leap (new one) Was pleasantly surprised and lok forward to the next season

K. B. Wagers is a great author. I started with Behind the Throne and read the whole Indranan War series. Next trilogy was the Farian War. Haven't read past those although I want to! Her new stuff looks interesting.

I also really like N. K. Jemisin. My favorite is the Dreamblood series.
