This is wrong! I mow use Voyager and in this client most videos are now playing directly from the feed even if they don't come from imgur. So this should be our go to :)

Okay I just seem to have discovered the simple truth: only imgur direct links to videos will autoplay without having weird link posts that send to the in-app web browser. So yeah, now you know where all the porn should go! Lol

I'm trying to find s client that handles this. It seems like some of the videos are being played automatically when scrolling but others don't play at all and just have a link leading to an ugly in-app browser. Why is this?

How are you generating this ones?

Also a possibility indeed

Seems like the search feature is still not fully working to its max extent. Lemmy instances have trouble finding all communities from other instances, and rather always shows one community of other instances, which is the community about the instance, in this case [email protected]. So yeah, they probably still have some dev to do on their search algorithm.

Forget it, I have now understood how it works. An by the way, I don't think this is the only solution! :)

A few minutes ago I couldn't quite grasp how the inter-community inter-federated services worked, I'm starting to figure it out. Keep in mind this simple truth: You can subscribe to any Lemmy community in any instance from your instance, the instance in which you created your account doesn't affect this.

With this in mind, all you got to do is subscribe to all the communities in PornLemmy that you want to see on your Subscriptions feed. This is easier to do on a web browser.

You can check all the PL communities over here: https://pornlemmy.com/communities

Click the ones that interest you and look at their links. Example :

  1. I wanna see the content from "Ass" in my subcriptions
  2. I click on the "Ass" community from the list at PL communities list
  3. This directs me to the home page https://pornlemmy.com/c/ass
  4. This way I know that the "id" of this page is "ass"
  5. I can now go to the instance in which my account is created which in my case is lemmy.world and log-in with the user that wants to see this content
  6. I can use lemmy.world's base URL https://lemmy.world/c/ in which I can write community names
  7. Since I know the community I want to subscribe to lives in PL, I will access it like an email address from here by writing it at the end with the id ass and the website where this community actually lives @pornlemmy.com
  8. As a result I have the following address https://lemmy.world/c/[email protected], so now I put it in the browser and tap Enter
  9. I can now click on subscribe at the right hand of the page, and the content from this community will be displayed inside my lemmy.world Subscriptions feed

Here's some of the links I used that will work for people who have created their accounts in lemmy.world:

This same procedure could be used for any other instance of lemmy, you just need to change the "lemmy.world" part of the link for whatever the instance your account is created on :)

Now, for the mobile part, I'm on Android so I downloaded the Thunder client. I logged in with this user (which I use exclusively for NSFW content). I told it I created my account on lemmy.world and I input my password.

Once I logged in, I changed my default feed type to "Subscriptions" and voilà! There's my clean porn from PL on my mobile phone using Lemmy any time I open Thunder :)

Hope this is useful and helps you understand better who Lemmy works, at least it did for me.

Why is it it that we cannot see content from PL on mobile apps? I'm new to Lemmy still trying to understand the whole federated structure scheme. In the join-lemmy.org getting started guide it is stated that "posts created by one instance can be directly seen by users who are registered in another".

Why is it then that I cannot see posts from my mobile app? I'd really be consuming way more content here if I could access it from my phone ^^`
