My brother and I were trying to replicate my grandmother's curry recipe after she passed and got close but something was off. We couldn't pin it down for years until one day my mother mistook the sugar for salt and added a tablespoon of it to the curry. We were amazed cause it now tasted exactly like grandma's. You couldn't taste the sugar, but it just rounded out all the other flavors. So now when there's a thing that's missing and I'm stumped, I try a bit of sugar and it's usually the answer.
My mother does this. She says it's because she can't hear it when she puts it up to her ear. I think she's just not positioning the phone correctly to her ear. I've bought her headphones and headsets, but she's a retired old lady that's technologically challenged so she's pretty much never going to stop it.
Former friend of mine in his early 40s does this. I've even confronted him about it because it's caused some embarrasing moments. He seems to think all of us (his friends) want to join in on his phone conversations or he wants to be the center of attention. He was a big asshole and narcissist.

100 years isn't that long ago. It's only 2-3 generations from us. Hell, people in office of that generation are only now starting to die lol. We'll probably have to wait until gen x and millennials are running the show.
I had a Saint George and the Dragon book as a kid that had awesome illustration in it. This reminds me of it. You can still buy the book on Amazon I think.

This is why I think AI is a good thing for artists because this is a good start. It wouldn't take much for an artist to alter it now to get what you want. Saved a lot of time which is the point people lose sight of.
