For the masc presenting cottagecore lovers here's some things I've collected, including shops, advice and pics (mostly taken from the subreddit for posterity):

Suspenders, dungarees or overalls

Vests!

Corduroy pants and sweaters

poet shirts are often nice and light and cottagecore for warmer weather, linen shirts as well

floral-print button-down shirts, accessories like enamel pins, mushroom or flower necklaces, canvas satchels to carry your stuff, cottagecore-print face masks.

Check local thrift stores!

Plaid, gingham, linen shorts and pants, brown or straw hats, waistcoats, leather boots, thick sweaters, Nordic patterns

hobbit/hobbitcore searches can round out the cottagecore selection, also check out farmercore or edwardian for the fancier side of masc and even light academia

Etsy is your friend, support local artists directly!

Edinburgh Woolen Mill for Tweed.

Cottagecore Closet has a great selection of men's clothing

ASOS for cable-knit jumpers.

Masc cottagecore Pinterest board

imgur album for inspo, with many body types

That's all I got for now, more later, probably.

My dream is a hobbit hole in the ground, so I can grow flowers on my roof.

Some summer cottagecore activities: Pack a picnic

Pick berries at a local farm

Bake something with those berries!

Ride your bike

Start a garden

Hike nearby forests

Learn what plants in your area are forageable. (Don't eat anything without being sure it's safe! Look up foraging classes in your area.)

Right now only because I'm trying to get a community off the ground and running so I can enjoy the same content I did before but it's a slow process. I've got followers but no posts really. There's another community I'd like to make but I can't handle trying to build up two communities so I'll just have to wait for someone else to get the idea.

But so far Lemmy, because it's not so widely traveled feels newer and nicer than Reddit. I had been taking pretty long breaks from reddit, not really feeling I was missing anything. I imagine I'll get to the same point here but one thing Lemmy has in it's favor is the ability to block communities so they don't come up on my feed. That's what sucked about Reddit for me, something would always come across my feed to depress me. So I'm blocking a lot of communities so this place stays a nice place to visit for me.

Cottagecore but you're in jail for five counts of arson

This has been my favorite running playlist when I'm in the cottagecore mood, it just hits the points of cottagecore that are a little more honest to my life experience. It's not always aesthetic it's not always pretty and it doesn't always work, but dammit, I'm going to sing through it all anyway.

Feel free to post your book recommendations here or just talk about your favorites.

As a tip and a reminder; please prioritize using your local library when looking for books. These centers of community are some of the most cottagecore things in existance. You're not expected to spend money, you are not advertised to 99% of the time and if you are it's about local events and offerings. Remember that cottagecore is a beautiful aesthetic but at it's heart it is a return to local communities, libraries serve those communities better than anything else. Go get your library card!

Hopefully I did it right.

I made this really quick as I move away from reddit, along with everyone else, because it was one of my favorite subreddits to browse through. I really don't know quite how this site works yet but I'm hoping we can learn together.

If anyone is willing to design icons or banners that would be great and you will be credited! Just post them here or in their own thread, right now any content within the rules is great. <3
