Youtube made 8.9 billion last quarter in ad revenue. That's almost 100 million a day.

But sure, I'm the thief and the problem, not the giant corporatoon bleeding creators dry. What a joke.

Get out of our backdoor China, only we can do that.

Which part makes you think the man yelling insults to strangers and then sucker punching them when called out on it makes him the victim?

Or maybe it's the five guys that ground pounded them, breaking a nose and ribs, that are the victims.

Snowflake behavior. It's crazy how triggered people get from a strangers sexuality, even as to defend gratuitous violence online.

Dahlia and Jess were leaving the station when a man started yelling transphobic slurs at them, Amber Muhm, a rally organizer who spoke to both of them after the incident, told The Independent. Jess asked him to stop talking to them that way, prompting the man to “sucker punch” her. Dahlia then struck the man with her cane, Muhm said.

Although the man was “knocked out,” four or five other people ran up and began to “mercilessly beat” the two transgender women, Muhm said.

“People were cheering the attackers on,” Muhm said. Both of them were knocked unconscious and Dahlia was left with a broken nose while Jess suffered “multiple contusions” on her ribs

Because you clearly didn't actually read it.

Making a drinking game out of this will almost certainly lead to alchohol poisoning and death.

He built the Ronald Mcdonald houses because his victims don't grow up to speak out about it. It always starts with the puppet play.

If it was shit, people wouldn't be complaining about having to compete with it.

It really depends on what we mean by "better than a human". Can AI draw better then the average human, yes. Can AI draw better then the best 10% of artists, no.

In any case, this is a tool. It helps me make up for the skills I don't have either to entertain me or help me. It just needs to be better then the human I can afford to hire, but I'm broke so the bar is low tbh.

And let's be honest too, the average human is kind of shit at most things, half of America can't even think for itself apparently, the bar isn't very high on what they can do either.

Buying shit products doesn't mean technology isn't advancing. My phone still has all the things you said and it was one of the cheaper models. Talking about sd cards, a 500 gb one is 20$. They didn't even exist in that size a decade ago if I'm not mistake.

Is this about technology advancing or if it's doing it morally? Your personal opinion on technology doesn't change its merit. And seriously, if you can't see the leaps and bound gen ai has done and how little of that uncanny feeling is left, you are just sitting there with your head in the sand.

Fact is, if I would have asked you three years ago how much time it will take for technology to advance to such a level where consumer computers can generate realistic images out of individual pixels, you would have straight up laughed at me. I bet you would have confidently told me it was impossible.

Common, just give the gnome a lick. He won't bite.

Seems really low when you think about it, his networth is around 200 million. If he's not getting jail time, they could at least make him pay a fair amount.

This is a real boon for cannibals

We just had an AI boom and now my computer can write text and code. It can generate images, voices and music almost as well as a human. This is in the last two years, I don't understand the feeling. I was personally blown away the first times I used things like chatgpt, stable diffusion, elvenlabs and udio.

On Friday, TriStar Pictures released Here, a $50 million Robert Zemeckis-directed film that used real time generative AI face transformation techniques to portray actors Tom Hanks and Robin Wright across a 60-year span, marking one of Hollywood's first full-length features built around AI-powered visual effects.

Metaphysic developed the facial modification system by training custom machine-learning models on frames of Hanks' and Wright's previous films. This included a large dataset of facial movements, skin textures, and appearances under varied lighting conditions and camera angles. The resulting models can generate instant face transformations without the months of manual post-production work traditional CGI requires.

You couldn't have made this movie three years ago," Zemeckis told The New York Times in a detailed feature about the film. Traditional visual effects for this level of face modification would reportedly require hundreds of artists and a substantially larger budget closer to standard Marvel movie costs

Meanwhile, as we saw with the SAG-AFTRA union strike last year, Hollywood studios and unions continue to hotly debate AI's role in filmmaking. While the Screen Actors Guild and Writers Guild secured some AI limitations in recent contracts, many industry veterans see the technology as inevitable. "Everyone's nervous," Susan Sprung, CEO of the Producers Guild of America, told The New York Times. "And yet no one's quite sure what to be nervous about."

The first story in this collection is my favorite and the one I wanted to share. It's sci-fi and the book is offered for free from their website which is honestly quite cool. You can also find a link to a free audio version of each of the stories, as well as the paid Kindle version or paperback.
