Just watched - A I Artificial Intelligence movie. Had never seen it before, but given the current AI everywhere thing, thought it worth a look. For a 2001 movie, a lot of concepts and ideas are now very relevant these days.

Have used weed mat at ours. Weeds will still grow in it, but they are easy to pull out as the roots can’t establish a firm grip. Depending where you are and the climate, you may need to spray to keep weeds down. Not ideal I know, but the recent warmer, and very wet winters, have made the drive and paths at our place a nightmare to control.

So does the wife want YOU to clean the house?

I’d recommend NOT planting too close to walls. Plants will grow and spread, and could potentially cling to walls causing an ongoing maintenance issue. Roots could also be an issue as they grow. Small plants look nice initially, but can be a menace in the end. Here’s looking at you Buddliah!!! I wouldn’t plant grass that close to the house walls, difficult to keep tidy.

I like the stone/gravel surround idea. Where we are there are suppliers who have a big range of different coloured/shape/size stones.

I guess it’s often about ease of use. so If it needs thought, then a lot will walk away and not bother. That in itself does imply capability, which I suspect in this day of everything needing to be equal, might cause some issues for some.

I’d suspect that most here, have some good technical ability, so it might be a hassle to get organised, but we’ll sort it.

The relaxed and friendly atmosphere here is wonderful, long may it continue.

How’s everyone doing with NZ on Lemmy?

The one major thing I’ve seen is the people using it are MUCH nicer than in "the other place", someone asks a question here, there’s many replies.

For me the environment is a little complex, too many options, but that in itself maybe what is keeping it nice, users need some idea about what they are doing and how they use it.

Have tried all the IOS apps, each has a specific advantage, but not all in one app.

I guess this is very early days for the bulk of Lemmy instances/apps etc. and it’ll take time to evolve.

Got a DJ pal in the UK who live streams on Mixcloud and who’s on right now, so currently listening loud to cool techno, electronic vibes with our breakfast!!

Morena all. Had an awful nights sleep. Been taking corticosteroids for a serious infection, and while calming the infection, they cause me weird, intense, and last night horrific, dreams side effects.

Have now finished the meds, so hopefully tonight will be calmer.

If timed repeated posts were made from a mod’s account like yours ha, ha, would that be detected as a bot posting? I know a bot will be creating the post, but what would make it look like a bot posting rather than a manual post?

Understand your engagement comment. I see the Daily as a collection of various topics all encased in a single post, but yes, if someone has bots blocked, it’s not an ideal solution.

Another useful thing would be to have timed automated repeat posting for the Daily. I think that automation can be limited to Mods only access to prevent spamming.
