By all means post threads that aren’t about new chapter discussions to spur on what you want to see. For right now, due to the small size of this community, there’s not enough people who want to share many posts that aren’t just new chapter announcements. New chapter announcement threads are the easiest and least thinking-involved participation for us.

I really liked the reddit style of just being a mish mash of all, be it new chapters, art, personal notes, etc. However, that sub has millions of subscribers, and even still the actual rate of posts that aren’t new chapters is very low for such a number. Thus, it should be fairly expected that it will be hard to get such engagement here when the community is a tiny fraction. However, that doesn’t mean don’t do it. This post garnered views and comments, so non chapter discussions can totally happen! I think they can be together side by side in a community.

Anywhere you think you see something interesting. There is no need to play them in order at all as the stories are all self contained. The names I tend to see most often are FF6, FF7, and FF10 (11 and 14 are MMO - what I actually started with).

Additionally, the beauty of final fantasy’s idea of having recurring names/enemies/etc is that even if you play a newer game before an older one and see a name or thing you recognize, you will always come to appreciate the callback even if you found out about them out of order.

Just keep in mind that since these games have spanned decades, the style and complexity of game will obviously have changed greatly, I know I personally have a hard time playing through really old games so it would be harder for me to start and get hooked by playing the older games

Unfortunately the lightning meant an evacuation for the fans for safety. I am definitely satisfied after spending my whole day there as I was on the grounds since first practice, but I can imagine that this unfortunate weather and evacuation will sour some fans' perceptions, especially with so many being first timers like me. While walking out, there was lots of mocking of how far the lightning was from the track and that it was overblown.

I heard on the radio and the large screens that 80 percent are first timers, me included! So far I think the vibe has been pretty good here, and the interviews that have been going on from the drivers that have been picked have been pretty good. Of course, that could just be TV press bias and optimism but so far so good!

What I think is also very hilarious is that some of the wrapping on the outer fencing of the entire enclosure has been ripped by outsiders to see the course.

I imagine it must be more of a Lemmy issue with not retrieving previews, but good question I didn't even notice until you brought this up here.

It does seem like previous posters have managed to do it though, hopefully they see this post!

One feature could also be swipe across the bottom navigation bar to go back, the Thunder iOS app had this gesture to open the subscription pane, but I think that the same idea can be used here!
