The California Academy of Sciences abruptly dissolved a youth group for climate change and fired its staff coordinator earlier this year after several teenage members distributed flyers in solidarity with the museum workers’ union.

The museum created Youth Action for the Planet in October 2023 as “an environmental action hub” for young people who care about the natural world to sharpen leadership and advocacy skills.

The design of the car heavily influences driver behavior, so you can't hand-wave away with "Tesla drivers are idiots". A major issue is that the FSD, sensors, cameras, etc. all give a false sense of security, leading to drivers engaging in more risky behavior. The term for this is Risk Compensation.

Regardless of who got elected, NHTSA was never going to do anything about this. Biden had 4 years to do something about Tesla FSD, and just "investigated" endlessly.

What are passengers expected to do with this info?

they solve far more problems than they introduce.

It is worse for pedestrians, who now have twice as many traffic signals to wait for. It is worse for cyclists, with "gauntlet" bike lanes running between through- and right-turning lane. It is only better for cars...so hardly the "best" interchange in existence.

I think he means take a right onto the freeway on-ramp, just before the diverging part.

“Together we’re advancing initiatives focused on creating safer, more efficient travel options for all modes of transportation, from vehicles to bicycles to pedestrians,” Dave Ambuehl, the chief deputy district director of Caltrans, said in a news release.

Noem had once been on Trump’s shortlist for vice president, though her relationship with Trump shifted after the negative rollout surrounding the publication of her book. In it, she revealed that she once killed her 14-month-old wirehair pointer, Cricket, when she was not displaying the signs of an ideal hunting dog.

Some cities will install bike racks for merchants if requested. In fact, some cities require bike racks as part of any planning permit.

It is "fuck cars" content because 1. the lack of proper bike infrastructure is what led to the crash, and 2. making road victims have to hire lawyers just to get their medical bills paid.

Most likely one contraflow bike lane, plus one car lane with sharrow, like this.

Also, bike needs to be in the center of the lane to avoid the door-zone.

Why should taxpayers subsidize someone's dumb decision to buy a Florida beach house?

[–] DrunkEngineer 1 points 1 month ago

Sure, but the article is claiming EV's are now as cheap as ICE, which isn't the case. The price parity is a result of subsidies and mandates. In Calif. we reached price "parity" a long time ago.
