Does NextDNS use a VPN? Unfortunately TailScale and VPNs can't be active at the same time

I had an AA Wireless for a while, but it kept giving me trouble and disconnecting when I upgraded from an S20 to a Fold 4. I bought a Carsify adapter and it's been great ever since
