And I bet he says that with a straight face...

First off - not a retail employee.

Untidy carts in the corral, for some reason, annoy me. Even if it takes a few minutes to sort them, for size and straightness, I have to - much to the annoyance of people who are waiting for me to get back to the car.

I guess it's irritation at the bad people who cba to be considerate to the cart collectors. Ffs you aren't doing someone's job, you are making their lives a bit less shit for 30s of effort.

Don't hold on to things you haven't done before you retire... It is a waste of time and regretting not doing stuff, which lasts for moments, is the folly of youth.

Also what/who you want to do changes as you get older...

/sauce greybeard who is 10 years off retirement.

Can't have the poors driving - they should be working! cf. Drive to eliminate internal combustion driven vehicles and replace with EVs as well.

Yes. In the Aga at home and the coal fire in the living room. Also in the grate at a friend's house.

Why? Aga for cooking and hot water, coal stove for heat, likewise coal in a grate.

ETA: coal as in Anthracite, Stove Esse, Stove Nuts. Not charcoal or coke. The latter two I have cooked on and forged metal with respectively.

New Nightwish isn't bad either!

Hermes... Oh wait, they rebranded as Evri because of bad reputation.

It's somewhat beside the point that the recipient has no contract with Evri to deliver, that's all on the sender; what should happen is the recipient just ignores the redelivery charge notice and tells the sender that it hasn't been delivered... Let the two parties to the contract sort it out.

I see your £230 and raise you £360...

However I think that RCT do provide a wide range of useful services and whilst I will wince paying the bill I will pay it to help maintain service to the area as a whole.

As far as services provided by the LA go, compared to authorities in the rest of the UK, we in Wales have it really good. I, for one, would like to keep it that way.

I have never worked that out - it's probably to do with display modes/buffers being swapped around whilst the machine starts up.

Back in the day it was text only but these days you have systemd starting up all sorts of stuff and boot managers doing likewise... And something in the mess is either not clearing something or reusing something that it shouldn't.

That's the time stamp for that part of the boot process in seconds. There will be (should be...) text on the line to say what it was doing at the time.

Back in the day you could actually see the text but these days it flashes past so quickly that the timestamps are, IMHO, less useful.

See it in person on the west bank of the Rhine in Bonn near the Deutchespost tower :)
