Low effort because using Trump is cheating

And people think Biden is incoherent...

[–] [email protected] 60 points 1 year ago (3 children)

This is what I don't understand. Biden has slip ups or forgets a name or mumbles a bit, but Trump doesn't make any sense with 90% of the shit he says.

It's easy to understand when you realize that everything is team sports with Republicans. as pathetic as trump is and has become, a ton of them still support him.

Imagine if any Democrat gassed protesters in the street so they could take a weird picture with an upside down bible in front of a church they'd not step a toe into if their life depended on it. Republicans would talk about how fucked it was for decades. Trump does it, it's worth defending to the death

Imagine the Dems doing anything the Republicans did...it would be defcon 1

People saying this kind of thing have already made up their mind and don't think critically about any of this.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago

It's pure charisma. You might listen to Trump's speeches and thought "what an idiot", but you've seen nothing until you've read the transcript

It's always incoherent

People falsely claim Biden is incoherent in order to deflect from this sort of shit with Trump. If you go around assuming the fascists actually believe the nonsense they're saying, you're gonna have a bad time.

[Insert Sartre quote here]

It's typical of the way he speaks coming from a salesman and promoter background. He says a lot that can't be argued with because there's really nothing there to argue. He also has a confidence and structure around the words that allows people to read things into what he's saying. People supporting him will see him as saying what they believe and people against him will see him saying the opposite of what they believe. In reality, he didn't say anything of substance, but he managed to get both sides worked up. It's very fascinating to see both supporters and opposers get so emotional over things being said that have absolutely no substance. It's a great study in tribalism, group think, and general psychology.

"people against him will see him saying the opposite of what they believe"

No actually we clearly see him saying absolutely nothing and we're just mad that half the population is dumb enough to fall for it.

[–] Nastybutler 18 points 1 year ago

Exactly. Half the country sees the emperor is naked and insistently say so, but unlike the children's tale, the other half refuse to see it once told.

I should have clarified the "opposers" as the people who have to mention Trump in every conversation and get so physically upset at the very mention of his name. I didn't mean just the people who don't support him.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 year ago

as an "opposer", I'm not seeing the opposite of what I "believe", I'm seeing useless propaganda being spread and I'd hence be angry at any political sides' source...

this source just happens to be a fountain of misinformation.

He says a lot that can’t be argued with because there’s really nothing there to argue.

if there's nothing to argue, then arguably he hasn't said anything at all. Yeah sure words came out of his mouth but without any coherent meaning behind them, it's just word vomit

[–] Oyster_Lust -2 points 1 year ago

And yet people get riled up on both sides because they think he actually said something.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

They all are very interesting characters, but I'd prefer them belonging to some mind experiments rather than the reality.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I don't think it counts as an aneurysm if it goes on for decades.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago

Yeah the aneurysm is still working its way to his brain, it just can’t find it so circulates around his circulatory system forever.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 1 year ago

Everything out of that guy's stupid fucking face does, yes. It's basically too easy.

Also, quite a few of us (I'd say DOZENS but... probably not) on here try to avoid his dumb mug as much as possible, and since virtually half of the communities on here are already explicitly political...

[–] Gradually_Adjusting 10 points 1 year ago

Damn, maybe Biden should just start acting senile to court Trump voters 🤔

[–] paddirn 9 points 1 year ago

They’re doing an amazing job no thanks to him. If he were still in charge, all of Ukraine would’ve fallen by now.

[–] BetaDoggo_ 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

If we're going to use the boomer political quote format could we at least link the source?

[–] cosmicrookie 15 points 1 year ago

I didn't have it but didn't take long to find with a search.
