Not a question. Just trying out this whole federated thing. Please ignore :)

How is it working for you?

Hey, I said please ignore. Why are you ignoring my plea?

Seriously, though, it's taking some getting used to, but it's pretty cool. Definitely some kinks to work out, though I can see the potential.

It was too cool when I saw your post from another instance, I couldn’t ignore!

I'll be honest, I figured I'd just create a whole new reddit alternative account, so I went with an instance that wasn't tied to one of my niche hobbies.

Though, I went with lemmy.world because that's where /r/flashlight ended up.

Seems the biggest drawback is that some of the actibity hasn't synced yet, so on my sub page it's a little off.

That’s cool. I created an account on Lemmy.ml as well, but it’s cool how you can really be on any server and it doesn’t matter. Don’t get me wrong, there are problems, but it’s working better than what I expected.

A good app would fix it for sure.

It's very cool. I'm very curious to see if it all takes off.

if anyone has tried an ultrasonic to clean razors what solution did you use? wasn't sure what to put in mine, figured water and couple drops of dish soap couldn't hurt. it got it cleaner but missed some spots. was cleaning a blackbird and it didnt get all the stuff in the grooves of the handle.

Simple Green has always worked well for me. Sometimes I have to run a couple cycles to get everything off, depends on how dirty the razor is and also how good your USC is. In my experience you don't get really good results with one cycle until you're a couple hundred deep on your USC. Something about changing modulation if the frequencies being needed to keep them effective if I recall correctly. Been a minute.

Thanks. Just picked up some SG.

edit: the simple green working great! 10 minutes and razors coming out like brand new! it was always annoying to me how hard it was to get into all the nooks and crannies, pretty much just accepted the fact that there would always be dried soap or whatever in there, this makes it easy.

I use a few drops of Dawn. After ultrasonic for a few minutes I lightly scrub the razor parts with a nylon brush to loosen anything that didn't release during the ultrasonic bath. I've been very happy with the results.

Thats what I did. Water as hot as it comes out of the tap, and a splash of Dawn. Still learning it. My Flare tips took about 6 90 second trips through the bath, and soft toothbrush to remove the stubborn bits of crud in the knurling.

Anyone know of an iOS app for Lemmy? Last I checked, they're hard to come by, if not straight-up nonexistent. I'm just working a browser for now.

The only iOS app right now is called Mlem, and it is very much a beta. I've been very happy with the mobile browser experience, though. Displaying the main feed by new comments is very useful for this community.

It’s also Android only. It doesn’t seem like these fediverse sites have really branched into iOS from a software dev perspective. I’m guessing that’s a mindset thing. I, personally, really like the whole Apple Walled Garden thing, but I can see why actually computer/network savvy people don’t.
