Hello fellow Far Side fans!
About this community and how I post the comic strip… Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips and one of those was The Far Side. These days of course you find just about anything online including www.thefarside.com where they post several comics a day and I repost them here. Just to note, the date you see in my posts is not the initial release date, but the date they were posted on the website.
The Far Side is a single-panel comic created by Gary Larson and syndicated by Chronicle Features and then Universal Press Syndicate, which ran from December 31, 1979, to January 1, 1995 (when Larson retired as a cartoonist). It's a police lineup but with snakes... That's it
The eyewitness snake also wears glasses, and confidently identifies the perp as being the 12-foot snake even though none of the snakes are actually 12 feet long
This community in a nutshell
Those lines make no sense... They're 5ft apart except for between 5ft and 2ft, and there are several lines below the 2ft one too?
And yellow and green are the same visual size (with yellow further in the background, so really it is larger) but the green one measures at 20+ feet while the yellow measures at 12 feet
This cartoon is a mess and the punchline doesn’t t even make sense
If you go into The Far Side, expecting Gary Larson to make jokes or sense, you're gonna have a bad time. He's said many times that he just draws absurd thoughts he has.
