I'm sticking with lemmy too, but I've had so many self hosted server issues I've lost steam.

I totally understand the growing pains and am really impressed with development, but I've had frustrating negative experiences with folks here too. There are some passionately angry, stubborn groups bringing down other communities and its disheartening.

I think I remember your issues from a while back. Are you stable now? You were really unlucky with your servers

wouldn't say so

IDK Reddit part but Lemmy is so far so good.

Ha! I definitely had a few hiccups. My admin account was disassociated somehow. A few db commands fixed that, but it took a while to track down the error and solutions. I also had problems with the poxy, syncing when other tasks have high resource use (the whole lemmy system just barfs for a few hours) and API access for 3rd party apps but users could log into the web just fine.

But then again, isn't that sort of the fun and reward of selfhosting? 🤪 Anyways, working again... Until the next update.

If you liked working at startups this whole scene is awesome. I contribute a modest amount to the person doing the heavy-lifting from where I use The Federation.

If one is looking for a place to create communitas that only happens before The Enshittification.

Everything else after that is marketing and sales.

Lemmy doesn't have videos and this is funny if you think about it
