This is Possum. I'm glad she lets me rub her belly because she's so soft.

I saw this post as I'm rubbing my cat's belly, lol.

My boy Teal'c loves him some chest scratches!

No way. That’s the “do it and you die” zone.

Yes! My cat Ella will sit on your hand so you can smoosh her gooshy belly. Its great.

Dear Lord yes. My cat will mroooww right at me then flop on the floor legs pointed at the sky for belly rubs. The little slut.

Yes! My big boy cat flops down and demands them.

I had a calico who would do the same! It took years but eventually she went from being stand-offish to demanding them.

My sister's cat that's become the family's cat does the exact same thing. He'll do the side flop, and if he isn't getting adequate attention he'll begin to wriggle really adorably.

My BSH Daisy does this as well. Of an evening she's started jumping on to my side of the bed and won't let me in until she's had her goodnight belly rubs. I've had to start going to bed earlier to make up the time!

I would call that her side, not her belly. :P

Both of mine love chest rubs. One will tolerate a short belly rub in the right mood, the other takes it as time to play!! without fail.

I think that is ragdoll thing. My ragdoll always begs for belly rubs when I leave the room. But does not sit on a lap. She likes being around people but not on people :D

Hahahaha my cat does exactly the same. Never sits on lap but puts his head over my lower leg when I lay.

[–] Kubenqpl 2 points 1 year ago

All ragdolls are the same :D

Our orange doesn't even attack my hand! Have had plenty of cats that seemed to like it until it triggered the kill command.

Love this picture! She looks so fluffy :)

Is possum a ragdoll? I just learned about the breed and I heard they are more okay with belly rubs than others.

Had a gray tabby named Dax that would fall asleep to belly rubs. We picked him outside a convenience store after he was abandoned there, we did whole found posters and everything but they kept getting torn down so after 30 days he was ours. At first he would claw and bite at any petting but we were able to get him to stop by pulling your hand away, as safely as possible, and giving a stern 'no' followed by ignoring him for a few minutes. He picked up that if he wants pets he can't claw and bite anymore.

Beautiful kitty, love her coat! Is she a mix of Siamese and something?

[–] skyler 0 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

I'm not sure of her breed. My sister found her on the side of the road when she was only a few weeks old.

I always guessed she was a snowshoe, which is a Siamese mix breed. Her pattern is near identical to what comes up googling "snowshoe cat". But I can't be certain.

Thanks, was just curious! Shes really beautiful

My (neutered) boy, Silky, absolutely adored tummy rubs. Not just chest, but actual lower abdomen. He'd purr his head off and streeetch (and drool, after FORL destroyed most of his teeth). As far as I know he was just a regular moggie - he certainly didn't come with papers from the shelter!

Both my Bombay cats are like this. I tell people that I got dog software running on cat hardware because they also like to fetch and chew sticks.

I wish! but she does like uppies
