Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

I would love to see more swipe gesture features implemented. Like when I click into a post and am reading comments it'd be nice, especially since I use one hand to surf Lemmy, to swipe from left to right to close the post and continue scrolling my feed instead of having to hit the back arrow in the upper left corner of the screen, which is usually too far away when I'm using my right hand only. Sync for Reddit had a feature like this and it made things easier. What do y'all think?

Just to piggy back off this. I'd like to be able to mark a post as "read" without needing upvote/downvote/view comments.

Agreed! And an option to hide read posts from feed if I need to, as far as I can tell I haven't seen an option for this in Jerboa.

There's a medium priority feature issue on github, so it's in the works: https://github.com/dessalines/jerboa/issues/431

There's a couple other swipe issues you might find interesting: https://github.com/dessalines/jerboa/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+swipe

Thanks! Glad it's in the works. Didn't want to submit a ticket or anything cause I know the developers are logged down rn

Yes I'd love to have this too. Boost (Reddit app for Android) used to have this functionality and my thumb still has the muscle memory :)

Exactly. I'm constantly trying to use Lemmy like Sync (or Boost). But I know that development is still in progress! Happy to learn that the developers listen to us and are engaged in updating Jerboa

There is a PR for this feature already it should be in the next release or the one after.
