I started out in traditional Japanese martial arts, been doing some Muay Thai on the side for the last few years

Primarily train Judo but try to do both as much as I can. Am (was?) a mod of r/judo and started up a !judo community here too. Originally I started up a judo and a BJJ community on lemmy.ml but didn't like their connection with lemmygrad so jumped ship to here instead (and saw this community already ready to go!).

Judo is awesome. One of the guys in my gym has trained for a few years, I always grab him to practice trips and footsweep

I used to do jkd also, but found it boring so I quit a few years ago.

I just started boxing. It’s fun and good for cardio and body awareness

Boxing is awesome. Be interesting to see if the footwork improves your standup. I always thought the distance management and angles would help

I've been doing Muay Thai almost as long as I've been training in BJJ, do a Judo class once a week, and usually spend about 2 hours training with some friends who are D2 college wrestlers. I know some people disagree with cross training, but I find that they all improve and compliment one another very well. Plus it keeps things interesting
