Noam Emeran is joining Groningen, subject to international clearance, after an undisclosed fee was agreed with Manchester United.

The 20-year-old had an impact this summer, scoring the first goal of our pre-season campaign with a slick finish against Leeds United, during the 2-0 victory in Oslo.

A positive performance followed in the game with Lens in Edinburgh and, after signing for the Reds from Amiens four years ago, he is to continue his career in the Dutch Eerste Divisie.

The lightning-quick winger also found the net in the opening game of the Premier League 2 season, against Crystal Palace.

In an emotional post on Instagram, Emeran said: "Dear United fans, it is not easy to leave such an incredible club but the time is right and the next opportunity is perfect.

"I’ll be forever grateful to everyone who has helped me since I arrived here in a new country at just 16 years old.

"With the support of some amazing people, I’ve experienced unbelievable highs, made friends for life, created unforgettable memories and overcome some difficult moments that have only made me stronger and more resilient.

"I want to achieve a lot in my career and feel ready to play senior football every week. I’m excited for the future, knowing what awaits me has also been built on the foundations of my development at Manchester United. All glory to God."

Everybody at the club wishes Noam the very best of luck in his future career, which we will follow with keen interest.
