Why are all these people criticizing Elmo on Xhitter of all places and maybe paying him for a stupid blue check mark. It really takes away from the impact of anything they say regarding him.

I appreciate a politician that's not willing to pretend they're powerless, like most of the Democrats in Washington.

She's not running for reelection, better find a good replacement quick

If only Al Franken could take the seat back. He was the best senator in my lifetime from MN and one of the only members of Congress who actually understood the perils of big tech and held them accountable.

I just dawned on me it was sent on a Saturday. An even bigger "fuck you" to all employees.

That's the point. Burn them out, make them stressed, make them afraid. Make as many leave on their own accord to avoid paying severance, then make others resign voluntarily on an empty promise of getting money for it. Finally, start filling their seats with cronies, sycophants, and loyal yes-men.

It is absolutely intended to make people fear for their jobs by sending a request outside working hours with an unrealistic deadline. Not all federal employees are even working on Monday. Some have schedules that don't include Monday, some will be out sick, and others will be on vacation.

For all hourly workers even checking their email when they are scheduled off is against the rules of their employment because it is considered working off the clock.

Is this even legal to do? Justify your job right now or resign?

If there is no enforcement of the law, then what is a crime?

[–] Nunar 8 points 2 days ago

It's not. DOGE is not an official office nor is Musk anything more than an "advisor". It apparently doesn't matter anymore.

Welcome to authoritarianism.

Employers in the US can usually fire you for whatever reason they want (other than a few protected ones), so yes it probably is.

[–] Spaceballstheusername 3 points 2 days ago

Government employees have more protections than at will employees in the public sector usually.

I'm so proud that she represents my state. (Genuine)

[–] [email protected] 9 points 3 days ago

Sorry boss. I don’t have time to check my emails. It doesn’t count as production, remember?

[–] Bytemeister 3 points 2 days ago

Shit, my hands would have typed and sent "Fire me and find out, you lazy pencil-pushing limp-dicked cocksucker" before my brain could chime in and add "when you inevitably have to hire me back after this incompetent debacle concludes, I'm demanding 3x the pay and a 4 day work week."

[–] [email protected] 7 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Did they actually say that?

Idk why, I just had this idea that US senators wouldn't swear online. Not that I have any problem with it.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 3 days ago

we fightin real live nazis putting the torch to a federal government charged with keeping 340 million americans safe and protected, you're going to see some new shit

[–] [email protected] 11 points 3 days ago

she's retiring, so why the fuck not? and i don't think minnesota voters would give a shit if their senator called it like it is. they'd want to see that.

[–] pennomi 2 points 3 days ago

In 2025 a lot of swear words have just become words now. Culture and language changes pretty rapidly.

[–] Xain52 4 points 3 days ago

I wish it wasn’t true but it was.

So, how many emails and replies is that? Who's going to read them all? Sounds like a job for AI. Just have it write a long detailed reply that doesn't have to be at all in touch with reality.

[–] Nunar 3 points 2 days ago

It's being fed into an AI model to do something with....

Just so everyone knows, anyone can send an email to [email protected]

Just putting that out there...

My bad boss experience from a few years back went on to tout Musk as an example of why this behavior was good and this boss' behavior was justified...
