God, what an awful day.

My parents came to visit because it's my mum's birthday. We went to a local cafe and the food took ages.

Then, both myself and my girlfriend got sick, probably from what we ate at the cafe.

And then I rolled my ankle as they were leaving, the worst I ever have.

So then I was dealing with two kids, who are fortunately asleep now, and I had to hobble to the toilet whenever the urge took me.

Bloody hell that's a tough break if I've ever seen one

Fingers crossed the kiddos stay asleep and you'll feel better (on all counts) in the morning

Also if anyone is westside and wants Christmas decorations I realised I have a giant (like one of those big plastic tubs full) box of purple/gold ornaments in the storage box. My ex must have randomly given them back and they somehow have missed the multiple declutters. I am never gonna have a tree that big again. Will take them to salvos on there weekend but thought I would check here first. DM me if you want them and can pick them up

If you want to recreate that Christmas Woolies ad where the kids make a pretend giant sparkly carrot and have a lavish Christmas lunch you'll have to shop elsewhere for the time being cos I couldn't even get Cruskits the other day. Lol.

Fridges were very bare at my local Woolies. Flashbacks to 2020.

I spoke with my family tonight. I don't speak with them often (enough). Not that I have a problem with my siblings, or my parents... I love them all.

Got to see the nieces and nephews, and they are all so cute and cool. My siblings seem like fantastic parents.

I wish I was good enough, you know? I'm just a self-isolating depressive I guess. I don't want to bring them all down. Sorry, I guess I'm going to bring you all down instead...

I'm going to keep trying. I have to keep trying.

You ARE good enough ❀️ It sounds like you've got a beautiful family, and you are part of it :)

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 hour ago

They are beautiful, I am quite lucky.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

You are and were always good enough, even if sometimes you struggle to see it

THERE'S A KITKAT GIBGERBREAD HOUSE NOW??

WHERE BUY

I NEED

NOW

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 minutes ago

I've seen it at Coles/Woolies and I am more than 50% sure it was at Aldi, too.

It's $25 though, which is scandalous for what is basically 10 KitKat bars stuck together with some chocolate and smarties.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 9 minutes ago

Woolworths and Kmart sell it :)

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 hours ago

That looks decadent. I bet they loved it

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 hours ago

It's feeling like it might be a "pet the cat till i fall asleep" kinda nights.

I’ve been looking again at anything I might like to do in my area but honestly… I don’t want to mix. Not here, no.

That’s the entire reason I rely so much on the internet. It’s oddly easier for me to find pockets of decent folks online and there’s less access to me if someone should turn out to be weird or nasty.

Plus some of the groups would require me to come home after dark and yeah nah. I think I’ll just be hanging out with my cat and the DT for the foreseeable future.

Teehee she called us 'decent'!

The best part about places like this, is if someone gives ya the ick you can just block them and never see anything they post.

Kinda hard to do irl lol

We're more than happy to be your refuge! This is what this place is for! Sharing and caring, support and love!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 44 minutes ago

And unlike on Reddit, if you block someone, they don't ever have to find out about it

One of my ex's friends came into my store today, and so I smiled and he turned away. He probably thought I'd ask questions or something. Not sure why he was here because he lives on the other side of town.

Yucky. My threshold for being triggered is extremely low right now.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Best reaction. Neutral or customer service smile, and β€˜can I help you?’

Nothing to discuss, no gossip to report

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Or get sassy

"Can I help you? You look a little lost."

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 hours ago

Nah, no attitude. It makes them think you care
