Itβs nice seeing peopleβs Christmas trees. I myself donβt decorate because no kids and canβt be bothered. There are a couple of houses nearby that do lots of lights and I look forward to them putting their decorations up. So to all the decorators out there, thankyou for the Christmas spirit, sincerely from the non-decorators. We appreciate it.

Place is looking a bit more habitable, wfh desk setup, still very cluttered and need to get rid of the poang footstool (chair in bedroom piled with crap) which will open up more space.
Let's hope my plants will look this lush over the next 6 months! These are the survivors after many deaths (and much neglect in a sunnier place).
tropical
Holy shit that looks fucking amazing!!!
Thanks! It is nice looking at the plants from the couch (where I took the photo). Starting to feel cozy. It'll definitely look nicer once I get rid of the footstool and unpack some of the books.
You've inspired me to care more about my space.
The studio is awesome, but the rest of the house is absolutely a "bachelor pad" and not in the good way lol
I reckon you'll find it easier once you're closer to the city and feel more connected to where you live - and a smaller space forces you to get creative too as I mentioned to Spud.
Those are some nice-looking floorboards though, dang! Haven't lived in a house with real floorboards in forever...
you're an inspiration π
That's amazing! πππ You are a fantastic home decorator!!
Aw thanks, I definitely have not been trying hard here, just working with what I have. Sometimes a small space forces you to get creative...
It was worth going out!
Was decent and Defs feeling a lot better despite not having heaps in common with the people.
Time for leftover HSP, Cat cuddles and PS5
Man, I really have to go out more. I'm the awkward person in the group tonight.
Admittedly I'm the outsider in a somewhat close knit group, but still.
Noted.
Sometimes it do be like that.
Also me too, I'm so sick of staying at home!
I've spent the last 9ish days at home. Working from home as well.
It ain't good I tells you. It ain't good :(
Iβm going through my social media profiles retrieving anything I might want to keep and deciding who to give an email address to. Perhaps a vpn might help me continue using them but then if I get caught thatβs it.
Iβm not expecting many people with weaker ties to keep in contact if I close them.
Ps. This isnβt actually going to protect children, just drive them underground and into unregulated spaces. Itβs 100% a grab for surveillance/control and cheap political point scoring on the part of the Australian government
gees I look tired, it's the weather, i've had a headache all week
also new glasses this week π€
Iβm ready to face Christmas now.
Here's mine for this year which fits the mood
That yew tree has seen 150 xmasses. Great grand parents would be rolling over in their grave if they saw that.
Edit wonder if anyone has put a goon bag and peanut butter on a yew tree before. Could be a world first.
Paloma time!! Cheers, all!
Cheers βοΈ
Blue skies, smilin' at me ... for the first time today.
I don't understand how people can eat a hsp in one go. I have a small one and this is at least 3 meals.
I reckon I could eat two.
Can you go a whole bag of chips and tub of dip, and follow it with a handbag chook?
I'll note this remorseless eating machine has a 28 inch waist
I can put away a small or a medium and sometimes I regret it
I can do it. The goal is that juicy garlic soaked bread at the bottom. Then I don't eat anything else for the rest of the day.
Either your local is more generous than ours, or you lack Boyo's apparently hollow legs. What that man considers a snack is terrifying.
I reckon it's probably both lol
I forgot how loud pubs can be.
RIP my ears.
I made a big batch of chicken stock today. Seven serves in the freezer for future soups. Also a load of scraps & soft bone in the dehydrator for future dog food.
So Indian Dubstep is a thing. I'm actually kind of impressed. Beats the standard Bollywood stuff you generally hear.
Edit: oh shit now it's down tempo lofi! fucking cool!
It's interesting that traditional elements are kept in these western song structures.

You should check out Tiger Beats Elephant Grooves on PBS FM on Monday evenings (back catalogue available online) - I'd been really sleeping on Indian music until I heard some of the sick beats on that show
No xmas tree but bI've assembled the bookcase after much effort...
rant at self
...and stupidly not trying to look up what it was beforehand (it's an old mid-2000s model of IKEA BestΓ₯ shelf, the label was barely legible).
In doing so, tried doing it the wrong way around entirely and irreversibly snapped the tip of 6 cam lock screw/dowels that are discontinued (114928), on one entire side. The sides and centre part of the shelf no longer lock onto that side.
I've put the working ones facing the bottom so it still stands, thankfully, but it means this shelf isn't even worth giving away for free when I move out, it'll have to go to the tip.
Even though there's a replacement part on thingiverse, I don't have access to a 3d printer and it'd take a lot of effort to dislodge the old snapped ones, plus I've badly scuffed the edges of the bookshelf after all this wrangling.
Really annoyed with myself because i hate sending shit to landfill out of my own carelessness, but I'm going to have to just move on (and remind myself at least my consumption and waste ends with me).
At least the bookshelf is still usable for now and I can start moving shit onto it so I can finish unpacking. And it's probably had a good run. Still, feeling low... need a win... that doesn't involve spending money...
it ain't much, but it's honest work
If it helps you can sometimes borrow access to 3D printers at makerspaces. They would absolutely let you print out a replacement especially if itβs small
how is it DT has all the brains with all these brilliant practical ideas?
