Just waiting on russia to go ahead and leave Ukraine.
Endless War
Community critical of US Empire's thirst for endless war, its military and oil oligarchies and colonization of allies.
What if I told you that both russia and usa are pieces of shit, imperialists with their foreign policies?
Sure usa loves to break deals and invade other countries, its a fucking war crime. But russia could have been the moral high ground (yeah looking at their more recent conservative laws, I doubt it, but there could have been the better timeline) but lets go over countries that russia also invaded since 1990s
1991–1993 Georgian Civil War
1991–1992 South Ossetian War
1992–1993 War in Abkhazia
1992 Transnistria War
1992–1997 Tajikistani Civil War
1994–1996 First Chechen War (they lost this one)
1999 War of Dagestan
1999–2009 Second Chechen War
2008 Russo-Georgian War
Does this seem familiar with usa invasions? Who also invade for "muh freedom... but mostly oil"
Given the context of all these invasions, if you were an ex-soviet state bordering russia, how safe would you feel now? Does it not explain why eastern block countries wanted to join nato? The first block of eastern states like poland, hungary ect were 1991. The estonia, latvia, ect group was 1999. If I were in those smaller countries, i'd be fucking happy that when... yes WHEN not if, they get invaded, at least there would be some payback eventually.
I am kinda under no impression that those countries can put up any kind of meaningful resistance with their pretty small populations for the pre-2022 russia, but being part of nato was at least some kind of deterrent.
You should also probably have a look at articles about strategic reserves of metals and oil https://www.businesstoday.in/latest/world/story/are-ukraines-vast-natural-resources-a-real-reason-behind-russias-invasion-323894-2022-02-25
Ukraine's breakaway territories in the Donbass region have abundant natural resources and, thus, make the area economically very feasible for the future. Lithium fields in Ukraine are concentrated in Zaporizhzhia oblast (Kruta Balka area), Donetsk (Shevchenkivske field), and Kirovohrad (Polokhivske field, Dobra area).
Ukraine has the second-biggest known gas reserves in Europe, apart from Russia's gas reserves in Asia, although largely unexploited. In terms of natural gas, the country has around 1.09 trillion cubic meters, which is an incredible amount. Picture this, it's sufficient to be stretched around the earth several times. This is second only to Norway's known resources of 1.53 trillion cubic meters.
Some estimates indicate that up to 20 per cent of the proven world reserves of titanium ores are situated in Ukraine.
Oh what do you know, these are the areas of ukraine that russia wants... What a fucking surprise. So maybe, just maybe we should stop blaming nato expansion for what really is one dictatorship desire to return to the "golden age" of ussr and countries stuck in the middle not wanting to be ruled by a self imposed dictator and choosing although I agree, flawed, but at least some kind of relative self governance of the west.
Put yourself in shoes of ex-eastern block countries after 50+ years of "communism" and see if you really want to come back to that world.
PS: what kind of bollocks is it that sovereign countries have to remain "neutral" do they not have any rights to self determination?
