My first ever LEGO set was this Roadster*. I add the asterisk because it was not actually this roadster. Mine was Mitchell Mouse, not Moe, and not Michael. I am trying to find the pieces to mine, because I remember the doors, and the body being red. The same color as the chassis.

My instructions are long gone, however in one of my boxes of instructions in my storage shed there are pieces of this booklet.

Does anyone else recall their set being named Mitchell? I cannot find anything to back ups this claim other than mine and my father’s memory of it.

This one is a deep cut, must have been one of the earliest models?

I don't really have anything to add, I just thought the mouse figure was neat

Holy shit, fabuland! I don't think I've seen this or even remembered in the last 35 years! Those were my very first lego (after duplo) pieces in the 80's...

I just got off the phone with LEGO. They were just googling the set numbers. She said she cannot say with 100% certainty that there was no red version and no Mitchell Mouse, she cannot find any info for sure. But she said if I find my old set and any information backing up my claim there would love to hear about it.

Ok, so I'm a huge AFOL and I've never heard of Fabuland until today, so thank you for that!!

Next off, after finding out about Fabuland, I went to the internet to find out more about it! I first went to the Wiki for Fabuland and found a bunch of stuff regarding the Fabuland line, how long they were in existence for, and a bunch of other facts. There was a show based on Fabuland! So, I found a bunch but I needed to go a little deeper, so I went to my search engine and found this article from Bricknerd.

That article is a longer read than the Wiki page and quite enjoyable to read but I still didn't have the names of all the characters. I had a bunch of Mike the Monkey and Mortimer Mouse. I found Max Mouse and Marjorie Mouse but no Mitchell!!!

Then I found this: a tripod page detailing all the names of the Fabuland characters!! So I scrolled down and found

Brown head with old eyes

Black body

Black arms

Yellow legs without ©

and

Yellow legs with old ©

These characters are without names. That kinda seemed a little odd but I then thought back to reading the Wiki page I remembered something I read there,

Names of the characters varied by country.

There you go, names varied by country. So, you could call him Mitchell if that's what you want.

If they were also sold unnamed it is possible my dad named him Mitchell (after the fishing gear) and after 45 years we assumed that he came named. Thank you for the links, I will be looking and seeing if there is more information that I do not know.

I need to go into my storage shed and get out my LEGO bag and see if I can find any of the pieces. Only the chassis, doors, and windscreen are unique to this set/series. Everything else is (from memory) 2x4 bricks.
