On my just departed Keychron K2, the default Mac-specific key set supported the special functions of the F3 key for both iOS and macOS but not - if I recall correctly - on iPadOS.

Those special functions being Mission Control on macOS and triggering the App Switching view on iOS. Though I very much appreciate the theory and sentiment behind supporting open-source customizable layouts in the design of the keyboard I've replaced that one with (Keychron V3 Max with knob,) so far, the latter has been significantly less functional for me.

Just focusing on F3 key to start

As it came by default, the V3's F3 key is labeled as Mission Control and appears to be mapped to the special Mission Control function in Via. On macOS, this appears to be true. However, it does not appear to be sending the same signal as the K2 was, because the V3 in the same configuration does not trigger the App Switching view on iPhone.

Unfortunately, I think I was dosing off having left videos about this topic play in the background the other night, so I'm not entirely sure, but I thought I heard whoever was reviewing a K2 suggest that - unlike the V3, now - the K2 "fooled" Apple devices into "thinking it was an apple magic keyboard."

Is there any truth to that differentiation? Is that the direction I should go in pursuit of figuring out how to get the F3's special function working on my iPhone, iPad, and macOS without needing a remap?

But ultimately the most specific/consequential question: is there a way I can configure my V3 Max to send precisely the same signals from F3 was my K2 was?

Thanks for your time!
