We're probably 10-15 years away from having the political will to withhold arms from Israel

[–] [email protected] 11 points 3 months ago (4 children)

So this must mean Trump approves of it, right? I mean, we have a 2-party system, so...

Oh, wait. He said Netanyahu needs to "finish the job" and exterminate the Palestinian men, women, and children. But I'm sure this publication plans to mention that, and didn't write this just to help Trump in an election year... Right??

[–] [email protected] 7 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Trump is not relevant to this story because 1) he's not currently in government, 2) is not being asked to stop the war by many voters in his base, and 3) clearly doesn't give a tinker's fig about the lives of Palestinians anyway.

  1. "Trump is not relevant because he's not the president but in January he could be until at least 2029" is a wild argument.
  2. Why does what his base wants matter more than the majority will of the country?
  3. Yeah, that's the point. He doesn't care about Palestinians. Whereas Harris does and is trying to thread the diplomatic needle.
[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

There you go. Trump is not currently in a position to affect policy on Israel and wouldn't lift a finger even if he were, so what does it matter what he thinks?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Because. He's. About. To. Be. President.

I can't spell it out any clearer than that. No matter what he believes, in about 3 months Biden won't be in charge of anything...

Because. He’s. About. To. Be. President.

(X) Doubt

She will let israel finiah the job just like trump. They are exactly the same. At least trump is honest about hating palestinian while kamala is a hypocrite. Vote for a third option even if they can't win in the short term

[–] [email protected] 9 points 3 months ago (2 children)

No I don't think that's true. I dislike the whole "Palestine is a complex topic" when arguing about helping Palestinians.

But saying they're exactly the same is not true. The President doesn't run the show despite how it is pitched. They don't control the economy and don't control foreign powers. Kamala and Trump will absolutely handle this bullshit differently, will either one do what will make me happy? No. But saying they'll do the same is so not true.

[–] small44 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

How biden bypassed the congress to approve an emergency aid for israel then?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Because it is all a show.

If Congress wanted to stop sales they would. Selling weapons makes us money, we never not want to sell weapons.

The government as a whole wants to sell weapons the players and politicians will posture to look this way or that but they want to sell weapons.

[–] small44 -1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Since you said that it's a show and it's the congress and not the president who can control foreign country doesn't that mean both trump and kamala are the same as they can't control israel?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 months ago

Like I said to the other guy, if Republicans didn't support Israel wouldn't they be hammering Biden for this? They're not. Because both parties want to sell weapons.

If you really need an explanation on Kamala vs Trump in this area then I cannot help you. Trump literally will not look for peace at all, he's even already fucked his relationship with the Iranian government who is heavily in support of Palestine.

[–] Linkerbaan -3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

They do control foreign powers. We used to condemn Trump for doing dirty backroom arms sales to Saudi. Biden is now doing the same for israel.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 months ago (1 children)

No he isn't lol

Congress is who you should be upset with bud

[–] Linkerbaan -3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

He literally is. Biden is the one bypassing congress and violating Leahy law for israel.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I understand that but if Congress really wanted to they have solutions to that.

They don't

You don't think Republicans would love to hammer on Biden for anything? Why not this?

[–] Linkerbaan -4 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

Because the majority of AIPAC funding is from Republicans. And Biden works for them.

Joe Biden is a Republican Zionist agent. That's not some crazy conspiracy it's literally a straight line from Bidens campaign donations to wealthy Republicans.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 months ago (1 children)

that is some crazy conspiracy crap lol

Wow you managed to view it entirely backwards.

People donate to both parties. A party isn't donating to another party dingbat lmfao

Brain rot is real holy shit.

Republicans are not giving money to Democrats. The same donor is giving money to both, the article literally says that the title is entirely misleading.

What it should say is something about religious right or conservative donors are attempting to get conservative Democrats on tickets instead of more liberal/left ones.

None of this is new to us. The oil industry has been doing this for years bud.

[–] Linkerbaan -2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

The donors are Republicans this is a Politico article. Take it up with them.

None of this is new to us. The oil industry has been doing this for years bud.

The oil industry isn't trying to lobby to get Armageddon to take place.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 months ago

DONORS CONTRIBUTE TO A PARTY.

DONORS ARE NOT POLITICAL PARTIES.

Hot fuck

[–] [email protected] -4 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Ignoring a politicians genocidal actions bc you prefer their rhetoric over the opposition's rhetoric has historically always gone well

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 months ago

Gdi. This is exactly what I feared might happen. It's the best way to deliver a Trump victory. If that happens because of her stance on Israel's genocide, she'll have only herself to blame.

[–] burnedoutfordfiesta 1 points 3 months ago

Look, you might not like that Hermann Göring has aided and abetted war crimes and genocide and is planning to continue to do so as Führer, but Reinhardt Heydrich has been more direct and rude about his plans to do the same! We all know that no other candidate will win the election, so if you don't vote for Göring and instead vote for a non-genocidal candidate, you're worse than someone who's voting for Heydrich!
