I hope the workers get a fair deal, but the scary thing on the FedEx side of the fence is having crazy shippers that go ballistic when we tell them we can’t pick up because we’re at capacity. 1997 was the last time this happened and people were throwing packages over fences, holding drivers hostage and the works. Hoping they (the shippers) will have cooler heads this time around if they do strike

I remember that strike. I was working at a hardware store at the time, and I remember people being extremely upset when shipment of things to the store was taking longer than normal (such as tool repairs that were sent to a shop). We'd just say, "The UPS strike has everything screwed up," and they wouldn't be happy, but there was nothing we could do.
