I have been playing around with an NVR, RLN8-40.
Easy set up and does the job, cons: it comes pre-installed with small storage (may be subjective when you have many cameras with high MP). I would suggest to get more storage, so as to have a better backup of video.
All my cameras are wired, I don't want to worry about wifi going out or cameras not charging.
A bit more about the cams, some that I have are the PTZ PoE Cameras and doorbell
I have looked into Fridgate, but for now everything is stock. https://docs.frigate.video/
I am pleased with the system I currently have, my expectations were mid.
I purchased other systems but returned them, due to limited cameras to choose from specs and cost. Lorex was one of them and Amcrest was another. Set them up and ran well enough, but I ended up wanting more freedom in choosing from other cost effective camera.
Another con, I had to order directly for freedom to pick and choose the system I wanted. Delivery may take aroun two weeks if you get free shipping. Seems some are coming from east coast, so may be faster the closer you are to delivery location they get shipped off of.
Customer service is well enough, wait times can be long. Email is another option but they will reply within 24hrs.
