Todayβs Ask PHlemmy: What is something everyone wants to do or have, but you have no interest in?
Philippines
Mabuhay at maligayang pag-alis sa Lemmy! βοΈ
An abandoned community for the Philippines and all things Filipino! π΅π
Started out as a Reddit alternative during the blackout from Jun 12-21, 2023 with over 1k members in just a few days. Fizzled faster than the "I Didn't Do It" kid after a month until it became the internet's Centralia in less than a year.

Honestly speaking, employment. Working for money isn't something I envisioned doing, but seems to be a requirement in this dystopian capitalistic society. It takes away from my time, my happiness, and a lot more things. And the little money I get in exchange, I can't even get to do the things I want to do. It's all too depressing. Fuck everything and everyone who supports such a shit ass system. Sorry if people are offended by this, just needed a vent.
Ang mag inom. Hay nako! Kayo talaga nagyayaya lagi mag nomo haaaaa. Masama yan!!! π€‘π€‘
Shot na tayo mamaya Lemmytors, pagkaout Hahhahahaha
Excessive kpop fangirling (I also wasn't into F4 then). I just don't get it, maybe because I don't understand the language.
The redesign to end all redesigns.
This logo is way ahead of its time. The "new" one is so pretentious.
This has got me curious though: Who designed all our government's OG logos?
This + Department of Agriculture, DSWD, and DOST.
These logos were really good.
They should have hired whoever made the DICT logo to do PAGCOR's rebranding.
BFAR is another good one.
late...
One of my kratky tomatoes died because I left it outside my overcrowded greenhouse. It filled up with rainwater and drowned π
It didn't bear fruit anyways (none of my tomatoes have fruit so far - probably because of the heat, or I don't have the right nutrients), so it's not that big of a loss, but I should get a bigger greenhouse built.
Hahahaha
I got a few laps in, enough to be considered as a cardiovascular exercise. Honestly, the ocean is so much more fun. Sa pool there's nothing much to look at except the guy with a swimmer's body on the other lane. That guy swims. That stamina chef's kiss.
Like, if I was in the ocean I don't even think I'd notice such stuff kasi iba yung focus ko. I'd be oohing and aahing at the corals, the fishes, the waves, the ocean floor, etc. Seriously.
I wanna see a picture of that stamina βΊοΈ
hindi ko naman yata ikamamatay
kung hindi ko mahawakan ang iyong kamay π€‘
Almost halfway through July na agad

Uu din haha, Kennon Road was closed the other week. Open now tho.
1 more day π
Sana all EU citizen.
The European Council has officially declared that all battery-powered equipment must have removable, easily-replaced batteries by 2027.
The regulation provides that by 2027 portable batteries incorporated into appliances should be removable and replaceable by the end-user, leaving sufficient time for operators to adapt the design of their products to this requirement. This is an important provision for consumers.
Fuck yeah EU.
Android Authority article can be found here.
Hope a similar bill gets passed here. I'd love to go back to the days where I can keep my phone for a bit longer by giving it a new battery. Limited na nga mga firmware updates e, at least let us have this. Also, mga Samsung users can sort of have their worries eased when faced with a swollen battery.
Because EU, we cannot reverse some accidental Google Street View captures. Someone blurred my relatives' property at hirap ibenta hanggang ngayon. Outdated na Street View capture nila (2018 pa, at 5 years later dami ng pagbago sa paligid). Not all times EU is right, though. Google cannot reverse it (of course they can, but they will risk lobbying at EU, again).
A sideways, though, but okay...
I wish that replaceable batteries on smartphones make a comeback. Because of this, nagtagal ang first Android phone ko (Samsung Galaxy Mini) ng anim na taon. Phones with non-replaceable batteries forcing us to buy new one.
Well, it's an idea π€·ββοΈ I can't get a dog bc we already have enough cats ok. It's a cat-centric household.
WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes will blow Hollywood businesses and studio productions. Damn it!
And for the right reasons. The only ones that could be negatively affected are the other support jobs related to Hollywood productions.
Writers should at least get a fair share of the residuals (iirc residuals are profits from streaming services). South Park, late night shows, Daily Show, Mad TV, and SNL are few examples of how huge an impact a good writing team can have on a show, and I'm still only talking about comedy.
Imagine all of your favorite series' going the route of GoT's last season. That's what will happen when you remove humanity out of the equation for writing a show. Though, tbf, the writers were still human, just were not perceptive enough at the consequences of rushing the storyline at the time of the last season.
I'm guessing all big production companies are going long on AI, thinking that although writing will be terrible, it will learn and improve in the future. At least, that is my (wild) speculation.
AI may be perfect but it ain't human, and human is just how I like my shows to be.
Kornets ng mayayaman π
Ang corny na, ang cheesy pa.
TIL the second most popular Duterte (that isn't related to Digong) is Jay Som.
Now I can drive without license...

Two government-issued digital IDs are enough.
Hey guys! Can anyone give me suggestions for an activity for a date? For some context weβre already in a relationship and Iβm running out of an ideas for a date. π
Beach dates? High-end? Bar dates? Picnic? Museum?
HAHAHHAHA π₯²
Please do note that some of these options have a bit of a high price point.
Workshop type dates:
I Did It Myself Bakery sa may Megamall. Basically you both can make a cake from scratch in their kitchen. I do believe they accept walk-ins, but not sure on this.
BakeBePH sa may SM Aura/BGC area. Same concept as IDIMB above, but in BGC area.
Sip and Gogh - you paint, and you can drink wine while you're painting as a couple. Can't see anything wrong with that lmao.
Wood Academy and Craft MNL- woodworking workshops (bit pricey)
Tahanan Pottery and Wabi Sabi Studio - If you want to get your Patrick Swayze rizz on (wink), pottery classes are the way to go. I believe there are more pottery studios.
More Physical/Movement oriented dates:
If you have time to plan ahead, why not try doing a walking tour around manila, preferably with this guide - a bit pricey sa shopee, but it's a nice plan that you can follow either to the letter, or have happy little couple moments along the way.
