That's... not really how file corruption works, but ok

This could actually happen if :

1.each panel of the comic is its own file. ( highly plausible )

  1. The panels are stored on an unrooted android phone

  2. She lose her phone data and she has no backup.

  3. She uses a file recovery app like DiskDigger

  4. The app recover a low-resolution thumbnail of the panel.

I'd guess the file in question was from a drawing software like Clip Studio Paint, where the layers and panels would be stored separately so you could corrupt just one of them.

ive had photos fuck up like this before. no clue why it happens. it was also on a old phone i used to have and only on that phone
