Man, half of America really doesn’t care what the rest of the world thinks of them anymore, do they? Because this right here? This kinda looks like some ISIS shit.

[–] Jiggle_Physics 51 points 9 months ago (1 children)

It's not even half. Every time people are surveyed for whether or not they support conservative policies, political stances, etc the highest it tends to get is ~30% of the population are in support. The more extreme the position the smaller the support.

[–] gibmiser 25 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Yes, but that is if you ask them about the issues. Try asking them about their team... I mean political party

[–] NegativeInf 12 points 9 months ago (2 children)

Seems like we need to ban political parties, put bags on the heads of every politician to disguise them, and rotate in a random citizen chosen from each district for every single vote. Better luck by random choice than a 50/50 coin toss at best and Gerrymandered hell scape at worst.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 9 months ago

Or we could have ranked choice voting so “3rd party candidates” can have a chance and not be seen as “wasted votes that let the wrong lizard win”.

[–] ThePowerOfGeek 6 points 9 months ago

But that would require the peabrains to actually spend time reading about policies, and might even encourage... different perspectives!! Can't have that now!

Much more convenient for them to just soak up whatever bullshit Fox News pumps into their brains and just blindly vote for the Rs. Then they can quickly get back to... Soaking up more shit from Fox News.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I would guess 8/10 Americans never think about what the world thinks of them.

[–] [email protected] -2 points 9 months ago (2 children)

In general, why should I care about what the rest of the world thinks of my country? Why would I care what another individual thinks of me personally? I'm always baffled when someone cares so much what other people think of them.

[–] DarkMessiah 4 points 9 months ago

I dunno, it just seems hypocritical in this particular instance for your country to have been all up in arms about ISIS only to turn around and do shit that they would applaud. Makes you look… untrustworthy, to the world at large.

You don't really understand how soft diplomacy works do you? There are distinct advantages to economic conditions if countries shake hands. If you slap somebody they will find ways to slap you back.

If you are interested in the potential strategic advantage of co-operation when countries play ball maybe start here : https://youtu.be/mScpHTIi-kM?si=JgAyJRWBwdVrpX5J

And 3 months from now he will be arrested for CSAM.

[–] NegativeInf 9 points 9 months ago

I give him 11 minutes.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago

But that's OK with Jesus because the 5 year old is cis!

[–] ThePowerOfGeek 62 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

Ah yes, just like Jesus said in the New Testament...

And Jesus said to his followers, "screw all the trans teens for they are filth, and murdering them is totally okay. Especially in Oklahoma." -Bubba the Bigot, 7:12

Seriously though, these pieces of shit should stop referring to themselves as 'followers of Christ'. They are disgraces to the human race.

Oh man has he never read his own state's Constitution?

"no inhabitant of the State shall ever be molested in person or property on account of his or her mode of religious worship; and no religious test shall be required for the exercise of civil or political rights." source

Also the word "Christ" or "Christian" never shows up in the state Oklahoma Constitution, so I'm not sure where he's getting his "Christian state" idea from except possibly out of his own ass.

It goes even further to exclude state money from going to religious purposes:

"No public money or property shall ever be appropriated, applied, donated, or used, directly or indirectly, for the use, benefit, or support of any sect, church, denomination, or system of religion, or for the use, benefit, or support of any priest, preacher, minister, or other religious teacher or dignitary, or sectarian institution as such." source

Oh man has he never read his own state’s Constitution?

Bold of you to assume he can read. He probably "reads" his state's constitution the same way he "reads" the bible.

[–] pdxfed 6 points 9 months ago

That is to say, like all charlatans, selectively.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 9 months ago

Oh man has he never read

You could have stopped there. The answer is no.

[–] Blaster_M 2 points 9 months ago

You should be up top

I love hearing about morality from Christians. They always say if you don't believe in god then you can have no basis for morality. Then they talk about all the people they want to exterminate for simply living their lives. There's no hate quite like Christian love.

[–] ObsidianZed 35 points 9 months ago (6 children)

The full quote is even more ridiculous:

We are a religious state and we are going to fight it to keep that filth out of the state of Oklahoma because we are a Christian state — we are a moral state. We want to lower taxes and let people be able to live and work and go to the faith they choose.

-Tom Woods (R) Adair

I fucking hate my state. And country. I just want to leave.

[–] Holyginz 12 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I swear growing up there were all these positive things about our country. But as I continue growing up those positive things started being unmasked and all the ugliness started to become apparent. And trump has brought all that ugliness out of the underbelly into the daylight. It's depressing.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 9 months ago

It's like chat gpt wrote it.

[–] sdpangolin 4 points 9 months ago

This stuff, right here, is why I have distanced myself so hard from the Christian church. They feel like a hate group now, and it's depressing. None of these people behave the way I was taught to.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 9 months ago

I hate my state. I pretty much just live here because it's actually affordable.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago

alabamian over here, feeling your pain

[–] Drivebyhaiku 2 points 9 months ago

Ah yes... I see. A taxonomic game. This asshat believes Non-binary people aren't "people" so there's no hypocrisy there as far as he can see.

I hope everyone who applauded him in that room gets some rightly deserved karmatic retribution.

[–] LEDZeppelin 33 points 9 months ago (1 children)

“We are a Christian state”

No we are fucking not. Resign now and get out.

[–] A_Random_Idiot 32 points 9 months ago (2 children)

This is why i dont believe in god.

Cause if god was real

and he was kind and loving like Christians try to tell you he is.

This motherfucker would have been lightning bolted.

[–] inclementimmigrant 23 points 9 months ago

Once again Shitty Republican Christians proving there's no hate like Christian love.

They really are just like Islamic extremists.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 9 months ago

[–] teamevil 15 points 9 months ago

[–] [email protected] 14 points 9 months ago

[–] Fedizen 12 points 9 months ago

SEND THAT MAN A SWASTIKA!

[–] afraid_of_zombies 3 points 9 months ago

So I would like to point out that it wasn't me saying it this time. They claimed it for themselves.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago

As a Christian, I can tell you that is not a Christian sentiment at all, that is hate. Jesus preached to love your neighbor, not condemn them and toss them aside. It is through unconditional love that we are to show people what we stand for. Just look at who Jesus hung out with: prostitutes, tax collectors, and other social outcasts. No wonder why he was unpopular at the time.

It is so disheartening to see people proclaim themselves as Christian and not understanding and living its core values. I don't care whether or not the Bible says it's a sin. Sinner or not, that doesn't affect how I treat people. It is a tragedy when anyone is targeted by bullying, and it hurts even more because of their death. We should be pushing for change to give trans people safety, not casting them aside. That is what a real Christian would do. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

He's got a pretty little mouth. Looks feminine to me.
