Look at all that never-back-downing he's doing.

When the going gets tough, you can find him in Cancun with Rafael.

I hope that this piece of shit disappears from the public soon and we never hear from this garbage human being again.

You're fixing yourself up for disappointment.

[–] Lemminary 5 points 10 months ago

I was already disappointed from the moment that he opened his mouth on television, I can only express my desires now.

Unless Haley wins in 2024 he'll be back.

Luckily he'll return with Jeb "Please Clap" Energy, so I'm not concerned.

He'll probably end up like Rick Perry in a cabinet position, although not a Haley cabinet and I would bet he declines a Trump cabinet (he'll claim he wants to stay in Florida.)

Of course a loss like this might change him, not in a way that is beneficial for the country, but I doubt it.

I hope so too, but he seems like a decently likely choice for the republican ticket in 2028.

Yes, but you do have a clear path to fuck yourself with a cactus.

Sounds like someone was offered a VP position.

Actually think Ron would be worse for Trump's prospects. Because people would have to look at trump's age and realize there is a chance... small one... but a chance, Ron could be president.

No matter who wins I’ll be surprised if we make it through the next four years without someone getting a promotion from VP to P.

You’re not talking to enough Americans if you don’t think that isn’t a positive for them. Everyone said things like this in 2016 about Trump winning Presidency (I’m not talking about popular, I’m talking about electoral). There is zero reason for DeSantis to have dropped out so early. He just came in second in Iowa. While everyone said he lost coming in second with 21% was an incredibly strong showing. He dropped out for a reason this quickly.

But Trump got like more than two times his votes. I don't think you can contend with each party choosing one candidate.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 10 months ago

It seems much more likely that he's just trying to salvage what little he can from the wreckage of his political career, if he drops out and endorses Trump maybe he still has something but I don't see any way Trump gives him any particular attention or favour

Lmao that's a hell no

Presidency begins at the campaign bid.

Interesting. I mean, he might have all kinds of personal/financial reasons, but I certainly don't feel like Trump's position in this race was secured, with all the legal battles going on.

I'm not really informed, but did DeSantis ever even attack Trump over those legal troubles?
Seems like an easy argument to me, that people should back him, not Trump, because the legal troubles might block Trump.

"Vote DeSantis, for the same authoritarian politics, without the chance of my authoritarian past catching up to me! 😀👍"

Does make me wonder, if through the magic of social media algorithms, filter bubbles and such, they genuinely don't see how those lawsuits are justified. I always assumed, they couldn't admit it, because it would be a political disaster, but DeSantis would have had reason to be a dissenter here...

None of those toadying losers had the guts to stand up to Trump and his base. Probably afraid of being murdered by stochastic terrorism.
