Stereosaurus is a genus of pliosaurid plesiosaur, a type of marine reptile, that lived during the Late Jurassic period, approximately 150 million years ago. The name Stereosaurus means "solid lizard", derived from the Greek words "stereos" (solid) and "sauros" (lizard).
