What’s the easiest way to find great things/people to follow on Mastodon?

I started off signing up on a friends self-hosted instance, so I was fortunate enough to have a small community already. Then I began looking for any of my twitter follows that had either moved over or are posting on both platforms. Once I had a base of follows, I have been able to find more interesting people through boosted toots and by hanging in the federated timeline a little bit and searching for hashtags.
