Pyre is structured in such a way that you can't NOT feel something at each of the key moments. These are your guys - specifically the ones you rely on to secure victory in tough spots. You can't help but feel something when

spoileryou finally earn them their freedom, never to see them again... or when the possibility of their freedom suddenly becomes impossible, doomed to remain forever in the near-inhospitable Downside. And at the very end, when the choice happens, it's HARD to make.
