This is a community for posting and sharing trailers and teasers for upcoming film, television and video game premieres. The goal is to provide subscribers a curated feed of trailers for UPCOMING media. General-purpose posts about movies, television and games are better suited for other communities around the Lemmyverse. This place is just for trailers.

Rules

All posts must be trailers or teasers; not full movies, not trailers for trailers, and not clips of popular scenes. Meta posts from mod staff are OK, but should be kept to a minimum.
No fan-made trailers or remixes.
Trailers for upcoming content only. Do not spam the community with trailers for media that has already been released.
Link to official channels for trailers whenever possible (ie: the YouTube accounts of each film's studio or distribution company); avoid linking to videos from media outlets that function as aggregators / re-posters if you can.
Post titles should follow formatting guidelines: "Media Name (release year, relevant creator credit)". Creator credits should be directors for films and games, showrunners for television series. Other details such as starring actors, writers, production studios, etc can be added to the post description.
Don't be a jerk.

Several generations in the future following Caesar's reign, apes are now the dominant species and live harmoniously while humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.

That name tho. Why not just 'Kingdom of the Apes'?

Because the whole series is "something of the planet of the apes".

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
War of the Planet of the Apes
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

How is that not obvious?

Also the original movie group had the same naming scheme: Beneath the planet of the Apes, Escape from the Planet of the Apes, etc.

So I'm questioning the whole naming method then. After the original 'Planet of the Apes' they could've gone with 'X of the Apes' without losing brand recognition and not making names that bloated.

But then people search for "planet of the apes" and might miss your latest offshoot.

That naming convention became a thing long before the internet I believe.

A relatively worse way is 'Planet of the Apes: X', if you conscerned with that, yet I doubt it would be a problem.

I feel it would have benefited from the use of a colon instead.

"Planet of the Apes: Rise" or "Planet of the Apes: Kingdom", but maybe they were worried about conflicting with the original films. They had already backed themselves into a corner by naming the first two in the remakes.
