Mabuhay at maligayang pag-alis sa Lemmy! โœˆ๏ธ

An abandoned community for the Philippines and all things Filipino! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

Started out as a Reddit alternative during the blackout from Jun 12-21, 2023 with over 1k members in just a few days. Fizzled faster than the "I Didn't Do It" kid after a month until it became the internet's Centralia in less than a year.

Unpopular opinion, as I grow older birthdays seems to be less and less happy because of the toxic Filipino trait that you're obligated to spend extra for food to be eaten by people at your workplace that you're not that close to.

I just don't go to work on my birthday.

Same. Ang birthday gift ko sa sarili ko lage is extra sleep.

Also, I've set the expectation when I started in my current work na slightly cheapskate ako kapag birthday.

(At wala din talaga bilang super extra ang budget sa pagkain ng mga mingming ko. ahaha)
