It's a good movie. The idea of sapient AI has been around in science fiction books for a long time. The question of whether they should be afforded the same rights as humans will be an interesting topic as AI develops. We barely seem capable of giving the same rights to other humans sometimes though...
It's kind of cheesy, but another one I liked from around that time was the Robin Williams movie Bicentennial Man. I can also recommend the game Detroit: Become Human for similar topics.
Have you seen the trailer for The Creator?
Thanks for the Bicentennial Man prompt, will watch that tomorrow.
Again thanks, I’ll also keep a lookout for The Creator.
I guess the $64,000 question is, how will it end?
It's not as dark or serious as AI and has a bit of a family movie feel to it, but the overall journey of the main character is interesting. It's based on an old book by Isaac Asimov.
If I had my way we'd end up a post-scarcity society living alongside hyper intelligent AI like The Culture in the Iain M. Banks books.
Going to try Ex-Machina as well
