The last D in DRSABCD now stands for deadly bleeding apparently. Might be time for a refresher if you remember it differently.
FFS every time I look at that there's a new letter to remember. Like the emergency phone number on that episode of The IT Crowd.
0118 999 881 999 119 725 …. 3
C for circulation is back baby.
Last I remember it was DRABCD, so I guess I need a refresher.
Same here! It was DRABC, then the first S went in, then I got lost! Ring 000 and do what they say, that's probably gonna be my approach until they can come up with something I can actually remember and enact.
why not E for exsanguinating?
We all know what F stands for, might as well lob that one in
I assume this is a joke? Have a missed something?
They differentiate now for when the patient is unconscious and breathing (D = Deadly bleeding), and when unconscious and not breathing (D = Defib). It's actually a bit confusing...
I think they have forgotten the point of having a simple mnemonic. It's supposed to be a rough guide to the priorities of what to focus on, not a triage system.
It becomes too much the more letters you add.
Is this the rest of the acronym?
Danger / Response / Safety / Airways / Breathing / Circulation / Defib & Deadly_Bleeding.
S is send for help/call 000 , C is CPR
I'm pretty sure it's Drive past, Refuse to Stop and help, then call 000 so you can feel heroic whilst not having any details at all and getting Aggravated Because the Calltaker keeps asking questions instead of praising you for Doing the Right Thing.
Oh hang on, thats the "what some of the most annoying callers actually do" flowchart, not what you're actually supposed to do. My bad, carry on.
I can only being to imagine how frustrating and hard it must be to work as a call taker!!
just one more "0" in your username and it could be you!
Ill stick with secret agent :P
