I have several friends who live on off grid properties of 40-60 acres each.

It's a lot of work. Like constant work. And the weather sucks in winter and summer.

I like visiting them but seeing the reality of it killed my dreams of living off grid forever.

Right don't get me wrong I dream of this too, but I've also had enough experience spending time in remote places to know that this comes with a drastic lifestyle change that isn't very realistic at least not for right now for us.

Still toy with the idea of finding a happy medium though.
