MODERATORS

“They’re all committed to it now, because Chuck has made them take a public position. Every Democratic challenger, I’m told, running for the Senate is taking the same position,” McConnell said. “I think they fully intend to do it if they can.”

Thanks for advocating for a good reason to have democratic control of the senate

democrats never did when they had the opportunity and needed it. why would they now if they don't need it?

When was that? Like 2008? Or are you talking about the ultra slim margin we had that was composed of bait and switch Sinema and Ol' House Boat Manchin?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago (3 children)

it's always one or 2 democrats and it will always be; it was lieberman the last time before sinema and manchin.

Always is a terrible word. We need to ensure that filibuster removal is run on and believed by all Democrats we elect so even if it is 51/49, we can change the filibuster rule or remove it entirely.

they won't even admit that something huge like a genocide is taking place; what chances are there for something small like a rule change with get any attention?

Self fulfilling prophesy. You dumb fucks are the REASON we have a bitch of a time getting more than the slimmest of majorities.

Democrats have and always will have a rotating villain to blame when they don't want to pass something. The same way they will always have party sheepdogs

If we'd had 55 senators, Manchin and Sinema would have been irrelevant. Vote Democrat.

You have now entered the circular logic phase of defeatism.

Next comes:

"Democats never get anything done, though!"

^pst they can't they don't have enough votes^

"They should learn to compromise then."

... sometime later

"They just give Republicans everything they want."

Give the democrats a real majority. They will certainly fuck some things up because the corporations can't have senators doing their job but at least let's see how progressive these Dems can really be.
