So many features, yet the calculator is still a piece of shit. What's the thing with Apple? Is it THAT hard to make something like this: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/calc-smart-calculator/id576675190

Something decent that actually shows you the entire expression with the ability to place the cursor anywhere to edit previously inserted numbers?

I just don't get it, their calculator is the most useless thing ever, you type a number, hit "+" and the number is gone.

No shame in leaving room for third party apps. I don’t really expect the built-ins to be all encompassing…

All of that has been fixed in the iOS 18 calculator, they just didn’t talk about it in the keynote. It has history, multi-line, and your can place the cursor anywhere and edit expressions.

Give it a shot, you might be pleasantly surprised.

No, it hasn’t. It’s certainly better but not up to what the other one I liked is able to do.

I said the complaints you listed had fixed in the new one. I didn’t say it was suddenly as good as a dedicated calculator app.

Lots of updates coming to the ios calculator with ios18. They obviously focused on the ipad version because it has the written math notes stuff, but a lot of those features are coming to the iphone, too.

The current calculator has had a lot more options if you turn the phone sideways, but no one ever does that. Personally, I'm a pCalc guy.

They want you to buy the app for that 30% commission.
