A community for discussing all things Ghost.

Ghost is a Swedish rock band from Sweden, formed in 2006. They are currently touring the world in the Re-Imperatour cycle.

Basic Rules-

So, everyone’s here to have a good time, let’s take a look at some of the ways we keep it a good time-

If you are feeling like your brain is a little wobbly at the new format: https://lemmy.world/post/67020 may help figure things out.

This is an ALL AGES group- please keep the sexy talk to a minimum and stick to about a PG13 level here. I am certain that there are other places for the after-dark discussions, I probably belong to a couple of them. This, however, is a family group and not a group for makin’ families. Heeeeeyooooo.

This is a Ghost discussion community: of course, as with any artform- there are topics that the music might bring up. I feel that type of discourse is incredibly important but, thus far, I haven’t seen much to indicate people realize how to discuss heated issues. Perhaps we can change that, perhaps we cannot- but for now: we will not ban those types of discussions but, you will need to refrain from personal attacks. Racism, homophobia, sexism, transphobia, ageism, and pretty much any of that? Not tolerated. Don’t do it.

If you don’t like those types of discussions, nobody is making you click the link and have it. Just scroll on.

If you feel you need to step back, have a juice box and a cookie before you continue, do that. Just don’t be a jerk.

Additionally, the moderator is big, big big time into the lore and exploring the symbolism. If you aren’t, listen, it’s cool. I definitely get it, but again, just scroll on by.

We don’t really care if you have some opinion about “metal or not”. Honestly. Well informed discussion about why you enjoyed or did not enjoy particular things is always welcome- not everyone’s going to enjoy the same things. That seems like one of those things we shouldn’t have to say: but apparently, it is.

Fan art and covers are absolutely welcome here: but credit your artists. Link to their stuff, hype them up. Art has never, ever been more important and we should be supporting our artists, fully. <3

End of the day, just don’t be a damn vibe killer. Toodles, kids.

My Ghost LED arrived. Warning, the plug is very short, and it is a USB-A. The instructions, which appear to be for any generic LED this company makes, indicates there is a power switch. I have as of yet been unable to find it.

I ordered a 10 foot male to female usb an extension, and have a WiFi enabled plug for it coming.

It’s always interesting to me which changes are made from the originals in these…

Hello there, my delightful void!

So, Ghost en Espanol posted this question on IG and I know a bunch of people assumed [God Was Never On Your Side] (https://youtu.be/o1hSSuc42P8) and the funny thing is, I’ve had [Love Me Like a Reptile] (https://youtu.be/mx6zew2a-mc) stuck in my head off and on for a couple weeks, now and though that one actually is from 1980- God Was Never On Your Side is from 2006- but even I thought about it at first because let’s face it, it’s a pretty brilliant song.

I am torn between LMLAR and Live To Win, at this point and I’m probably incorrect either way. 😂

(Now let’s just see if I’ve formatted properly…)

  • From his early days of deconstructing and rebuilding classic songs to his ongoing obsession with learning and absorbing new techniques, as they prepare to drop new covers EP ‘Phantomime’, Ghost‘s leader Tobias Forge sees each new track as a fresh puzzle to be solved.*

Planet Rock has an absolutely enormous set of photo albums from the download festival and I thought that it might make for a good first on-topic post. You can find them here.

Enjoy.

It’s great to see you, how are you doing? You find your way here, all right? Want something to drink? Cookies?

First and foremost, this is an unofficial Ghost community: I don’t have anything to do with the band, I am but a humble archivist. I am also not one that you are familiar with as I’ve kept a fairly low profile and genuinely, prefer that. However, given the current state of things and the fact that they might just be circling the drain over there: I thought I’d provide something of an alternative.

So, where are you now?

This is Lemmy and it is part of the fediverse. That is a collection of decentralized and open social network platforms: you might have heard of Mastadon. Not the band, though we like them, too. Mastodon is like Twitter, if Twitter wasn’t an awful place largely fueled by rabid gerbils.

Though Lemmy does have some similarities to other platforms- it is decentralized. This means that you’ve got a little bit more freedom to do things in ways you enjoy. Lemmy’s servers are called instances- can be hosted by anyone, so this means that no one entity or person is in control of anything. (Ooo that makes the little control freak in me get a bit antsy- but excited.) There are quite a few instances that you can choose from: this community is on Lemmy.world, but there is also lemmy.one, beehaw.org, and lemmy.ca. Most of these instances are linked together, so that the communities are under a somewhat collective umbrella. You can create an account on any instance you choose: you will still be able to read and interact with those on other instances.

Now, if you’re gonna want to do this on a mobile device: I recommend signing up on Lemmy, first as it's a little easier that way for me but you can do what you want.

For Android, you’ll be looking at Jerboa, the official Lemmy Android app. You can find that via The Play Store or over on F-Droid

For iOS, you’re going to need TestFlight and once you have that, pop over to Github where you will find the beta. Once you get there, go to ReadMe and you should be able to get everything set up and activated, easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

You can see a lot more information on how things work in a nutshell on Lemmy’s Getting Started post.

Anyhoozles! I hope to see lots of your tour photos, stories and just maybe, we can do a little lore exploring. ;)
