Reddit Was Fun

People don't care about you, only what you can do for them. Thats a deeply cynical point of view but its emblematic of Reddit now.

I am glad to find a new space that promises a better future than the corporatised one of my former haunt.

I wish you all fun and frolics in the new adventure.

Wasn't a Reddit user for all of RIF but was a RIF user for all of my Reddit.

Can't say I'll never be on Reddit again but I can say I'll never be on it again from mobile.

Been using RiF ever since I had an Android phone. It's a sad day now...

Back when reddit was arguing in favor of net neutrality against Ajit Pai, I wrote them a note which they included in their FCC filing. I think there were all of five or so redditors they included for that.

I wonder how the pro net neutrality reddit feels about this cynical shutting down of 3rd party access?

sad to see it go, hope the freakout and holdmy subs come to lemmy.. was only thing i really used reddit for. deleted account a year ago cos was tired of appealing bullshit suspensions and bans

I don't know how much of an effort it would be by the developer but we love RIF and maybe it's worth it.

Question for the developer, did you consider it?

Question for the users, do you think it's a good idea? Would you pay for this app?

I've used this since the late 2010's, but I only purchased the golden platinum version on January 2nd, 2020. I'll never forget you and I'll never forgive u/Spez from taking you away from me.

Created this account just to say thank you RIF team. Been using it for many years to the point where I thought this IS reddit. Sad that they act up now and we're loosing you. Only the best wishes for the team, good luck for your future.

The RIF community persists, even through the end of a wild ride. I'll always remember all the helpful folks that made Reddit enjoyable. Goodbye, old friend. Here's to a new Chapter!

Just created my first account, first post! I'm very sad to see my favorite app gone forever - ready to leave Reddit behind. Great to see other RIFers making the switch - I hope Lemmy takes off!

I joined reddit when I was 13, I'm 23 now. Reddit is fun was an amazing app, I made a lot of friends, laughed, cried, saw some shit that scarred me for life and I loved it. Its crazy for me because I never realized until now how much of an impact it had on my life. I hope that Lemmy takes off, because I already miss rif. Truly then end of an era.

Reddit isn't what it once was, and never will be again.

It's the Golden Girls theme song, but also in a way accurate. Rif was my first introduction to reddit. And the first app I downloaded on every phone. One I used...probably too often haha. Don't confront me with that data, I'm not ready yet. But through the past decade it's led me to some extraordinary discoveries, been a comfort when I was low, helped me organize things I was looking into or just laughing at, and never failed me being there even when I did break away for a bit. Rif was like a friend, an online acquaintance that knew all the things I liked and shared that with me. And I'm going to miss it. A lot. Thank you for the last 10 years of being a friend.

Goodbye RIF. I don't know how many years it was exactly, but I enjoyed my time with you.

For the last few weeks, I left RIF on my phone but unsubscribed to all my subs, so I'd be greeted with an empty front page every time I idly tapped the time-wasting icon. And man, did I ever learn that I tapped that icon a whole lot.
