Two nights of Caps hockey in a row! The second of two back-to-back road games is tonight at 7 PM in Newark.

Not that this comes as a surprise, but now it's official. Watching the Caps won't be the same without him. Obviously, wishing TJ all the best in his recovery.

The Capitals announced TJ Oshie has been listed as injured after his start-of-season physical on Wednesday. He will begin the season on LTIR.

The revelation comes after the Capitals included Oshie on their 72-man training camp roster as required because he’s still under contract with the club. He has one year remaining on his deal.

Per PuckPedia, the Capitals are currently $10.27 million over the salary cap, with 22 of 23 roster slots filled. Once Oshie ($5.75M) and Backstrom ($9.2M) are placed on LTIR, the team will have $4.68 million in free space and two freed-up roster spots.

Jakub Vrana, a member of the Capitals’ 2018 Stanley Cup champion team, has inked a professional try out agreement with his former team. The deal means that if Vrana impresses during training camp, he could potentially earn a contract for the 2024-25 season and make the club’s Opening Night roster.

Also, I didn’t realize until today how busy GMBM had been during the off-season—I knew about the Kemps trade w/ LA, but beyond that I’d been oblivious.

Lapierre wins playoff MVP. Seems almost certain he's played his last game for the Hershey Bears. I actually thought Frank was going to get it after that ridiculous goal streak.

One-for-one. I was really pessimistic about Kuemper's contract when we signed it and I might be even more pessimistic now. It feels like there's a very high chance we're just bringing back the past couple years of Kuznetzsov without the good memories attached.

Hopefully the guy makes me look like an idiot for saying this.

Four overtime games, including game 7. Bears went up 3 games to none, the Cleveland came back to tie it.

Gotta give it to both goaltenders - Greaves for the Monsters and Sheppard for the Bears.

This is a move I don't understand. But I wonder what it will mean for the site as a useful resource.

Getting crushed in that series was predictable but I'm still somewhat upset about it anyway and don't really want to talk about that.

Posting because I'm happy a caps community has finished out a season on lemmy with good discussions. I had wanted a lemmy caps community for years, but it seemed like their was no hope for that with how small the lemmy userbase was. One of you guys set up this community shortly after the reddit fiasco with third-party apps, I think I was actually a couple months late to realizing that, but we've had enough posts for me to consider this a successful start.

Like a month or two ago I checked out the other team comms and ours was by far the most active at the time, the only other one even close was the leafs. Has probably changed with playoffs starting, but I'm too lazy to look again.

It's been great chatting with you guys and hanging around. I plan to be back for preseason end of September, and I'll check periodically through the offseason too.

So yeah, this is a generic thank you post with no content. You guys rock.
